Preface
Who would have thought that the Perkins Activity and Resource Guide could have been improved by making it shorter? Since it was first published in 1992, this two volume handbook has proven itself to be an invaluable tool for specialists, support personnel, parents, and teachers of children whose multiple disabilities include visual impairment. It has been one of the few strategy-based publications in which these educators could find basic information about providing appropriate services to this population not only in functional academics but in each of the areas of the expanded core curriculum. Now, with the publication of its second edition in just one volume, the Perkins Activity and Resource Guide promises to continue to be one of the first books to which educators turn as they plan to meet their students’ goals.
