René Barjavel was a French writer and journalist born on 24th January 1911 In Nyons. His most famous works are science-fiction novels: Ashes, Ashes (1943), The Ice People (1968) and Future Times Three (1944). However, he is also the author of essays such as La Faim du Tigre and of movie scripts. His work is characterized by philosophical questionings about science, progress, time, humankind and God. He died in 1985.
