About this ebook

Retired DEA agent Joe Nicoletti is ready for a change. Worn and weary from a career filled with criminals and violence, he dreams of living his life in peace and tranquility. He dreams of moving far from Washington, D.C., where every street reminds him of the sudden death of his wife, Kristen. He dreams of a town where art and literature dominate the conversations at the local coffee shop.
When he is offered a faculty position at the University of Montana it seems his dreams are about to come true. He never dreamed he would have a second chance at love. He never dreamed he would become the prime suspect in a high-profile murder case. He never dreamed he would be forced to undertake the most important investigation of his life.
But dreams can turn into nightmares when there is MURDER IN MISSOULA.

Laurence Giliotti knows how to write a really good murder mystery. Nicoletti, a retired Federal Agent is offered a job at a University where he thought his days of hunting killers was over. Of course, that was before a gruesome murder fell into his lap. Now he's on the hunt for this killer and he's not going to stop until he finds out who it is. A fast edge of your seat suspense novel. The characters were really well written and I could see them being brought back for another novel.

This isn't my ordinary choice of reading, but I have to admit that I do occasionally enjoy a good murder mystery. This mystery, like most, had a twist, but it was quite different. The author chose to reveal the killer's identity to the reader at the beginning of the book. One might think that would spoil all the suspense, but that was not the case. The criminal is a serial killer that has murdered before and has gotten away with it. When he moves to Missoula from Colorado Springs, he begins his search for another female victim. Enter a retired FBI agent who knows all about serial murders and is in town to give a lecture and possibly join the teaching staff at the university. Add a few pretty women and a timer ticking down the minutes between the killer's next move and when someone will discover his game, and you have a pretty highly charged read. I think if you are a mystery fan and can get past the early reveal of the murderer, you will probably enjoy this quick read. It had just enough of a build up to keep my interest. I might have hoped for a bit more from the ending, but it was still a pleasurable read.

Actually a 3.5. I enjoyed the mystery and liked that we were able to know the murderer's perspective; however, that could be a bit disturbing also. The story line was credible and the characters were well written. Overall, a strong, suspenseful tale. Thanks to NetGalley for,the chance to read this.

Seasoned law enforcement personnel, a serial killer, and a writer who conveys the frustration, anger, and suspense with a deft hand. The killer seems as innocuous as Dahmer once did, but more careful and with a willingness to move if he feels threatened. A good but scary procedural. The writing is cohesive, and the characters all too real. This book was provided by the author or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Net Galley.

I received a free advance e-copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This is a fast-paced psychological thriller full of twists and turns that kept me guessing. There is a sicko serial killer that stalks his female victims and poses them when he kills them taking trophies from each killing. The author is a very talented writer who develops his characters fully and is very detail oriented. An amazing plot. I couldn’t put it down. One of the best thrillers I’ve read this year. This is a keeper and well worth the read.

This fast paced entertaining novel kept me reading all day. I enjoyed the story and the characters in it. There was just enough background regarding the characters to give them substance BUT in some ways I would have liked more. I wanted to know about the cases and people mentioned in passing and it at times felt as if this was a book in a series or that more books in a series should be added. There is a murderer in Missoula – a serial killer. He is definitely a creepy guy and someone I would not want to get close to. I never figured out when he stared murdering, why or how many he may have killed or even what his motivation was – I would have liked more. A woman missing several months is found dead in the beginning. Pandori, FBI, is called in for consultation. Nicoletti, Pandori’s friend, is in town for a crime convention. One is married but we do not meet her and little is said about her while the other is a widow. There are two women who are very good friends with one ending up murdered. I would have liked to have had more back story on all four characters. I don’t know if this book is going to become a series or if it is a one off. I kind of felt at loose ends when the book finished unsure what would come next for any of the characters. That said, it was enjoyable and fun reading even if I felt a need for more. I would like to thank NetGalley and Chateau Noir Publishing for the copy to read and review.
