About this ebook
An Avondale Story
Professor and secret government analyst Ian Sanderson’s bad day gets worse when he arrives home one miserable November evening to find an apparently incriminating photograph in a FedEx envelope in his doorway, followed by increasingly threatening photographs over the next two or three weeks. It isn’t just Ian being set up: his partner, Randy, a lieutenant colonel working on a top-secret Pentagon project, is also at risk. Someone obviously wants something, but what? And from whom?
Soon, a mysterious caller demands that Randy disclose information about the project he's been working on. When he refuses, Ian’s and Randy’s sons, David and Paul, are kidnapped from an Amtrak passenger train. Resourceful and intelligent, the boys manage to escape—only to find themselves lost and alone in a remote wilderness. With time running out, can Ian and Randy track down their blackmailers? Or will the man known only as The Broker claim another set of victims?
Etienne
Etienne lives in central Florida, very near the hamlet in which he grew up. He always wanted to write but didn't find his muse until a few years ago, when he started posting stories online. These days he spends most of his time battling with her, as she is a capricious bitch who, when she isn't hiding from him, often rides him mercilessly, digging her spurs into his sides and forcing the flow of words from a trickle to a flood.

Reviews for The Burdens of Truth
2 ratings1 review
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In this story Etienne writes about four new characters; Dr. Ian Sanderson who teaches and Georgetown and his partner Lt.Colornal Randy Richardson who works at the Pentagon and both men have a teenage son. We also get to read about some familiar faces from a earlier Avondale book.
The story involves kidnapping of the two sons, escape, a couple close calls as the kidnappers try to get the boys back, and a new budding romance for a marine.
Etienne writing keeps you turning the pages. His writing is descriptive and detailed as in his past books he describes the food and restaurants so well you really want to go try it out. I even tried one of the wines that were mentioned in a previous book.
