Fast Writing, Self-Publishing - Mike Reuther
Introduction
You might have heard someone say, I always wanted to write a book.
I know. I’ve heard that too – countless times.
Often, I tell the person: Just sit down and start writing it.
Oh sure
is the response with more than a sarcastic tone to it. Just like that?
Yes. Just like that,
I respond.
When this aspiring author wants to know what exactly I mean, I explain that it requires nothing more than that – sitting down and writing it.
Okay. I’ll admit there’s a small caveat. Do you know what it is?
It’s writing fast. That’s it. Sitting down and stringing words together just as quickly as your fingers can fly across the keyboard.
You say you can’t do that?
Sure you can. In fact, why don’t you just try it?
This is a book so very simple in its message that it doesn’t have to be long at all. I decided that I really didn’t need to go on for many pages to explain all sorts of mysterious processes for getting into the mood of writing and finding one’s muse and overcoming writer’s block. You can find such books for writers online and on the shelves of libraries.
If you’re looking for inspiration you can tap those sources. In fact, I wrote a book several years ago that serves as a kind of pep rally for writers. Write the Darn Book exhorts would-be authors to stop dreaming and get off their fannies and write.
What I hope to convey in this short book is how very easy it is to write that story that’s long been simmering inside you. And all it actually takes is writing fast.
But isn’t that difficult? Doesn’t it take some work?
I hate to call it work because it really is easy.
Well ... what about self-discipline?
Well sure. Anything worth doing requires a little bit of that.
How about time?
I’m glad you asked. You can write a book in a snap. Sure, you’ll have to set aside some time to write, but not as much as you think.
Ready to get started?
Okay. Sit back, relax, read on and learn how to do it. It
