In the beginning GOD... (Genesis 1:1)
Begin your year with God. Reflect on His Goodness and Grace. Let a sense of gratitude fill your heart, as you consider that He watched over you and preserved your life throughout the previous year. If He were to deal with you according to your sins, you would not be alive to see this day. This in no way suggests that death is always the consequence of sin. But bear in mind that you are not alive because of your righteousness. Life is not a commodity that can be bought with the currency of deeds. God’s grace is the ultimate legal tender for continual living.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of life and acknowledge that it is a product of Your grace through Your Holy Son Jesus Christ. Thank You for protecting and preserving me in the previous year, and for denying the pursuers of my life their wishes. Thank You for seeing me through the Blood of Jesus Christ, and therefore not dealing with me according to my sins. Thank You for a new year. Thank You Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray...amen.

In the beginning God CREATED... (Genesis 1:1)
Creativity follows God. As you begin this year with Him, expect a creative year. God will impart fresh ideas into your spirit and mind. He will impart your heart with wisdom to translate those ideas into reality. Out of the manifestation of your creative ideas, many people will be blessed this year. Get yourself a special book to record all the ideas God inspires you with as you invest time in prayer and meditation. Your new song, new book, new project, new relationship, or new................ (fill the space) will be effectively manifest this year. Go to bed knowing this is your creative year.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, I thank You for imparting Your creative force into my spirit. Thank You for making this year a creative one. I open up my spirit and mind to receive fresh and uncommon ideas right now. I receive divine grace, wisdom and power to translate every godly idea into physical manifestation. Let many people be blessed this year through my faithful and diligent execution of the ideas You give to me. Thank You Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray...amen.

In the beginning God created THE HEAVENS... (Genesis 1:1)
In planning this year, consider heavenly things first. Give priority to things that have eternal value. It is a mark of wisdom to always consider endeavors that have permanent consequences before those that have temporary consequences. Remember, heavenly investments are permanently secure. Winning souls for Jesus Christ, praying for people, giving offerings to promote the gospel, living a pure life, and showing love to and concern for others are all investments with eternal consequences. Any creativity that lacks heavenly focus and eternal value does not move the heart of God. Determine to be counted among the heavenly-minded this year. Take your spiritual life very seriously.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, help me to make plans and decisions that have heavenly focus and eternal value. Help me to grow in hunger and thirst for things that positively affect my soul and the souls of others this year. Let my thoughts, words and deeds move Your heart this year – in Jesus’ name I pray...amen.

In the beginning God created the heavens
AND THE EARTH. (Genesis 1:1)
No matter how long you live on earth, life here is short. As you read, time is running out. One day, you will also experience the inevitable transition from time to eternity. Therefore, maximize your time on earth while you are still here. Build relationships and make achievements that add value to your temporary residence on earth. Impact your world. Leave a commendable legacy before you leave here. While you are still here, make your presence a present to those who are still on earth. Remember, you are the salt of the earth. You add taste to the meal of life here. You are an agent of preservation. Let your presence be felt in your world.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that I am not going to be on earth forever. One day, I shall also embark on the journey to meet You, my maker in eternity. I therefore pray in the name of Jesus Christ, that You help me to maximize my stay on earth, make relevant achievements, and leave a commendable legacy before my transition...amen.

And the earth was WITHOUT FORM...
(Genesis 1:2)
The Hebrew word Tohuw (pronounced to’-hoo) means formlessness, confusion, disorderliness, and vanity. As you dwell in the study, meditation and practice of God’s Word this year, your life will not be plagued with any of the aforementioned. Indeed, this year, you are going to hear about confusions and various acts of vanity all around. Yet, the Word of God will keep you from being affected by any of them. Believe that you will go through a well organized year decorated with clarity and orderliness. Your mind will overcome every depressing arrow of confusion and enjoy the refreshing experience of peace and soundness.
Let us pray: Eternal Father, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that I shall not have a year without form. Help me to have a well organized year. Let my thoughts and decisions be influenced by divine peace. I receive a sound mind this year and reject every confusion and depression. I also pray that Your peace will reign in this nation, our communities, and families...amen.

And the earth was without form, AND VOID... (Genesis 1:2)
The Hebrew word Bohuw (pronounced bo’-hoo) connotes emptiness and undistinguishable ruin. As the economies of nations continue to nosedive and many people retrogress from survival to struggle, the Word of God will empower and bless you with wisdom and faith for riches and wealth. This is one of your best years yet. You will not wallow in emptiness. Avoid making empty promises so you do not reap same this year. Fill your spirit with God’s Word, your heart with love, and your mind with knowledge. Let giving hallmark your year and your vessel will not be void of God’s goodness. It’s your year of plenty – plenty of God’s provision.
Let us pray: Eternal Father, I believe this is a year filled with Your abundant goodness. I shall not lack anything good this year. In the name of Jesus, I position myself duly in the spirit to receive an unprecedented harvest of divine provisions for every area of need in my life. This year, let heaven remember me for my offerings, seeds, and sacrifices – and let God be glorified...amen.

And the earth was without form, and void;
AND DARKNESS WAS UPON THE FACE OF THE DEEP... (Genesis 1:2)
Choshek (pronounced kho-shek’) is the Hebrew word for darkness in Genesis 1:2. It means obscurity, misery, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness, destruction, and death. Delight in the meditation of God’s Word, and this year God will bring you out of obscurity. You will begin to shine and your light shall direct and inspire many others. As darkness covers our world and great wickedness become commonplace, God’s Word will keep you out of harm’s way. God will preserve your life in His Word and deliver you from spiritual ignorance, misery, and sorrow. Darkness will not have power over you in this year. It is impossible to submit to both light and darkness at the same time.
Let us pray: Dear Father, in the name of Jesus, I rebuke every kind of darkness settling on my life, family, ministry, nation, and concerns. Let the light of Your Word expose and destroy any such darkness in the name of Jesus. I receive a year filled with Your light...amen.

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2)
As disorder, poverty, and darkness increase in our world, we are about to see mighty levels of the move of the Holy Spirit. Note: The move of the Spirit of God is not needed in heaven because there are no problems in heaven. The Spirit of God moves where there are problems in order for the Word of God to bring change. A primitive root of the Hebrew word rachaph (pronounced raw-khaf’) for the word move means to flutter or shake. The move of the Spirit will shake and uncover the foundations of problems in lives, families, the Church and nations this year. Watch out for great moves of the Holy Spirit in areas where disorder, poverty, or darkness has plagued God’s people.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for the move of Your Spirit in our world today. Holy Spirit, I acknowledge that You are present to shake the foundations of the problems that have plagued my life, my family, the Church of Jesus, and this nation. Thank You for bringing change through Jesus Christ...amen.

AND GOD SAID, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)
What are your expectations for this year? Speak them forth and believe they shall come into manifestation. You possess in your tongue a divine creative force. Your words are powerful – even more powerful when you spend more time with God in prayer and meditation. Never underestimate the words of a believer who is addicted to God’s Presence. Be careful not to say things you do not want to see. Avoid idle words; they actually have impact on you. God called forth light in the beginning. Avoid calling forth anything associated with darkness. Let your words produce light, life, and love. Maximize the power of your tongue this year.
Let us pray: Dear Father, in the name of Jesus I submit my tongue to the influence of Your Spirit this year. Help me to speak forth words that produce pleasant fruits. I pray that my words will not only be good, but will also be the right words spoken in due season. And Lord, let every godly word that comes out of my mouth this become physically manifest in Jesus’ name...amen.

And God said, LET THERE BE LIGHT: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)
Out of darkness, God called forth light by His Word. In sickness, call forth health. In weakness, call forth strength. In fear, call forth love. In poverty, call forth riches. In doubt, call forth faith. In confusion, call forth clarity. Use the Word of God to transform your situations. Anything in your life that does not glorify God, submit it to His Word and have it changed. This year, expect divine exchanges from the undesirable to the desirable. Expect beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, favor for labor, possessions for your oppressions, gains for your pains, glory for your story, and many more divine exchanges.
Let us pray: Dear Father, thank You for using Your Word to transform my life for the better. I am grateful for all the transformations that are happening in my life today, and for the ones that I am yet to experience. I pray that my thoughts, words, and deeds will position me to be blessed from Your divine exchanges. I submit my all to You right now in Jesus’ name...amen.

And God said, LET THERE BE LIGHT: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)
God is light, and there is no darkness in Him at all. Yet He called for light before embarking on the journey to create all that we read of from Genesis chapter one. The Creator’s call for illumination before creation reveals the importance of the former. This year, avoid making major decisions or undertaking important projects without information or revelation. Overcome the temptation to lean on your own understanding. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you divine illumination in your day-to-day activities. This natural world is largely influenced by the supernatural. Having spiritual knowledge and revelatory foresight helps you to thrive where others struggle.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that having divine illumination is key to my prosperity this year. I ask in the name of Jesus that You deliver me from spiritual ignorance. Holy Spirit, anoint my eyes and let the scales of spiritual blindness fall off. Let my decisions and endeavors be influenced by divine wisdom and understanding. In Jesus’ name I pray...amen.
PSALM 36:9; PROVERBS 3:5-6; 1 JOHN 1:5

AND GOD SAW the light, that it was good:
And God divided the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:4)
The word saw in Genesis 1:4 is derived from the Hebrew word ra’ah (pronounced raw-aw’). It means to consider, examine, or evaluate. If God who is perfect found it necessary to examine His work, then you who are imperfect cannot afford not to examine your works. Beyond your works, make it a habit to examine your life
