- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a fairly standard guidebook covering Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. I like the convenient 4 day itinerary ideas and the convenient “What’s Where” pages for each city. There’s an emphasis on the world cup, identified as soccer for us Americans. :P The index has the site names in Portuguese only, no exception to even the biggest sites such as the Christ Redeemer statue. Speaking of which the instructions on going to the Christ Redeemer statue was rather vague. Finding exactly where the station is, the bus stops, the lines, when to buy ticket etc. was a bit of a nightmare. I miss Rick Steves.
