Father, why do we have to move again?
It’s not safe here anymore,
the boy’s father said as he packed two large bags with a mix of essentials and a few family heirlooms.
But you said it was,
the 8 year old insisted.
It was,
he said, taking a moment away from packing and placing his hands on his son’s shoulders, realizing the need to make him understand before they boarded yet another evacuation ship. But now it’s not. Our enemy didn’t know about this star system, which was why it was safe two years ago. Now is different. They found us again, so now we have to move...stay one step ahead of them.
