About this ebook
A crackling, highly imaginative thriller debut in the vein of W.E.B. Griffin and Philip Kerr, set in German-occupied London at the close of World War II, in which a hardened British detective jeopardizes his own life to save an innocent soul and achieve the impossible—redemption.
London, 1946. The Nazis have conquered the British, and now occupy Great Britain, using brutality and fear to control its citizens. John Henry Rossett, a decorated British war hero and former police sergeant, has been reassigned to the Office of Jewish Affairs. He now answers to the SS, one of the most powerful and terrifying organizations in the Third Reich.
Rossett is a man accustomed to obeying commands, but he’s now assigned a job he did not ask for—and cannot refuse: rounding up Jews for deportation, including men and women he’s known his whole life. But they are not the only victims, for the war took Rossett’s wife and son, and shattered his own humanity.
Then he finds Jacob, a young Jewish child, hiding in an abandoned building, who touches something in Rossett that he thought was long dead.
Determined to save the innocent boy, Rossett takes him on the run, with the Nazis in pursuit. But they are not the only hunters following his trail. The Royalist Resistance and the Communists want him, too. Each faction has its own agenda, and Rossett will soon learn that none of them can be trusted . . . and all of them are deadly.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this book, and so far it is my favorite of this series. This book starts off where the last book ended, which i like sometimes. the major plot twist was expected, because there is almost always one in these books. the story was nice, different and more dark than the rest. the story starts right after the last book ended, which i like. the more dark tone is perfect for me, but the only true example of this i can think of is when the leader of BloodClan kills the 'bad guy", who has nine lives, in one blow. this was the expected major plot twist.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Although this was a decently written book, I'm only giving it three stars - mainly because I felt extremely cheated by the main plot twist. Given the buildup in previous books, the change in direction made no sense to me and was very unsatisfying. Unexpected twists should make sense and have a purpose, in my opinion - not be there simply for shock value. And this one felt like it's only reason for existing was for shock value, not because it was really necessary for the story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Such a beautiful, imaginative series. I choose to believe this is what happened to my Taz after she went missing. I can easily picture her being Shadow Clan.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Review by: lock best book in the Warriors series it has an amazing story line everything from the first five books comes together in this book it's the best one in the series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was very well written. There was something new in every chapter, to make sure the reader was kept in suspense. This was definitely a "dark" book. Make sure you prepare yourself for a dramatic ending......
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A triumphiant ending to the fire-cat's tale. I loved every second of it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Now that Tigerstar's dogs where led away, does Tigerstar have something more powerful? No nothing can be more powerful, right? But no one thought that a band of a thousand kittypets might cause trouble... Firestar, you need to decide!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In this book TigersStar the new leader of ShadowClan wants to rule along all four clans. RiverClan agree to join ShadowClan but ThunderClan and WindClan do not agree because they do not trust TigerStar. When TigerStar gets to know that they will not agree he wants to force them by inviting a new rouge cat group to force them. But the leader of BloodClan, Scourge kills TigerStar in a flash and all of TigerStars lives were gone. Then a battle begins because BloodClan want to takeover the forest but they loose and so the four clans can be in peace again. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure and loyalty.
