About this ebook

Suddenly, for the second time that day Zack was hit from behind and knocked to the floor. This time however it felt different than when Janet had knocked him down.
“Dam, I didn’t hear Janet tell me to drop,” Zack thought as he fell to the floor and was immediately jumped on. His face was pinned sideways and he could not determine who was on top of him.
Andrew quickly drew his pistol equipped with a silencer and shot Zack twice in the middle of the back. He was about to shoot him in the head when Janet knocked Zack down to the floor and jumped on Zack’s back. She aimed her weapon at the shooter at the end of the stage.
“Finally, I am going to get you bitch,” Andrew thought as he shot her several times in the chest. To his surprise she did not go down. He raised his aim to her forehead and pulled the trigger.
A single marine launched himself in front of Janet and the bullet meant for her struck him instead.
Everything was progressing around Janet in what she knew was her adrenaline high, slow motion world. She saw Andrew stand up and fire. At the same time she pulled Zack down and jumped on his back to protect his head. She felt each bullet hit her in the chest and one rip through her arm. She knew she was about to die but was determined to get her replying shot in. She had her sight on Andrew’s forehead. She saw the marine jump in front of her. Janet squeezed the trigger and Andrew’s world came to an end as her bullet found his forehead and went through, taking his life with it as it exited cleanly out the back of his head.
Andrew’s last thought was one of surprise. She had out done him! Then the world went black.

Ron Mueller

About the Author Ronald E. Mueller remwriter95@gmail.com Ron grew up in what is now Flint River State Park in Southeast Iowa. The 170-year-old house Ron lived in is built into a hillside. It faces a 125-foot-high cliff towering over the little Flint River. The house and the land talked to him about; the passing of time, the struggle to conquer the land, the struggles people faced and the wonder of nature. He climbed the cliffs, crawled into the caves, dove from the swimming rock, collected clams from the bottom of the pond, gigged and skinned frogs for their legs. He trapped muskrats for fur, hunted raccoon in the dead of night, and with only a stick hunted rabbits in the dead of winter. His young life was outdoors, and nature tested him. He walked to a one room stone schoolhouse uphill both ways. A stern but warm-hearted teacher, Mrs. Henry was instrumental in shaping his character as she shepherded him from the fourth to the eighth grade. A Montessori before its time. It was a great way to grow up. His experiences inter-twined with snippets of fantasy lend themselves to the adventures he leads the reader through.
