About this ebook
Set in an alternate earth in the year 2050, Detective Vic Vicious is brought out of cryogenic prison to solve a string of brutal homicides torturing Los Angeles.
Vic wakes to find a city that is a shadow of its former self. It is dark and cold; men are weak, the infrastructure is crumbling, and politically correct laws have sought to stifle freedom of expression and free speech. This isn't going to fly with Vic Vicious. No, he does and says whatever the fuck he wants.
When a woman is found on her back in a dark alley with her nether regions stitched together, it takes a man like Detective Vic to solve the case. Or will the case solve him?
A quick note from Detective Vic - This is a dark story. It is filled with adult humor, violence, foul language, and politically incorrect speech. If this offends you, well, that's too damn bad.
This is the first in a planned 10 story series. Enjoy!
This title is 8K words, with a 3K word excerpt.

Chapter 1
I knelt down on the ice-cold asphalt, staring at the dead, naked woman on her back in front of me. She was barely illuminated by flickering street lamps in a dirty, piss-soaked alley. Why had they thawed me out for this?
My partner Tucker Carlson knelt next to me. Any ideas?
he said.
There is one thing I can say for certain.
And what’s that?
She wont be having kids any time soon.
He flashed me a nasty look. You can’t say shit like that about the dead, man. It’s not right.
I pulled out a cigarette from a pack of Lucky Strikes I had before I’d been frozen and lit it with a butane torch, sucking on the filter until the cherry burned red-hot. I blew the smoke right in Tucker’s face. I can say whatever the fuck I want you pretentious little bitch.
You’re not supposed to be smoking either. The New World Order outlawed that in 2025, twenty-five years ago.
I ignored him, taking another drag as I stared at the woman’s bruised and beaten body. Blue contusions stretched up her legs toward her groin, a cross was carved into her lower abdomen with a dull blade, and the cuts were deep. My money was on someone taking her organs to sell on the black market. What sickened me the most was her twat. It was shaved and stitched shut with 20-pound test fishing wire. What kind of sick fuck would do such a thing?
How long has this poor woman been here?
I said.
Her body was found around 11:30 PM, given the foot traffic in this area, I’d say she was dropped off no earlier than 11:00 PM.
I looked back up at Tucker. You know I prefer my women with bush, when did that go out of style?
Tucker shook his head. You have issues man. You should see the precinct shrink and make sure your brain didn’t get scrambled during the freeze and unfreeze.
Answer my question.
The 1990’s.
That’s too bad. I could use some bushy tail.
I pulled out a pocketknife from my black trench coat, the bottom rim of which was probably soaked in the piss of a thousand different drunks. Tucker looked at me with a scorn of disapproval. Don’t you fucking do it.
I snapped the blade into place. Sir, yes sir!
He was adamant. You’re going to get us censured!
I sighed. Quit being such a pussy. The LAPD brought me back from the ice to clean this city up. Do you want me to solve this fucking case or not? Or would you rather I stand here and do nothing while the cocksucker who did this kills again?
Vic, stop it man. You can’t say words like that anymore. You’ll get us sued.
You know what your problem is Tucker?
What?
It’s that you’re a cocksucker, aren’t you?
Tucker sighed and shook his head. We should have left you in ice.
I smiled, taking a drag of my cigarette. You should have, but you didn’t.
I took
