About this ebook

Welcome to Millingham, MA, pop. 5000... 4997... 4993...

A serial killer stalks the streets of this small, isolated community. A killer as ancient as the town itself, murdering at will and never leaving a trace.

The sheriff has convinced himself and others that the recent rash of deaths in the town are just suicides, but Lysander Shore knows different. He knows the townsfolk are being hunted by something that shouldn't exist. And the deeper Lysander digs, the more he realizes the killer isn't just taking their lives. He's taking their souls and Lysander's may be next.

Malice is the first book I've read by Griffin Hayes and I will say I am glad I came across it. The cover is what first attracted me to the book, I am a fan of paranormal books and thought I better read the description on this one to see if it was something I should read.

Griffin's writing is fantastic, it is one of those book that kept my attention so I couldn't put the book down till I reached the end.

It is a murder, mystery, and a bit of romance, but it is a murder/sucide,creepy, witches, paranormal thriller type of book.

There are many dark secrets, dark shawdows, someone is murdering people and there is a connection to the past. Can Lysander figure this all out without getting killed.

If you like y/a paranormal books this is a must.

How does one tie the burning of a witch in 1600s Massachusetts Bay Colony to ordinary people living their daily lives today? That is what Hayes does in his book MALICE. The spirits from that long ago tragedy still haunt a present day town where the witch was put to death. The one evil spirit is still struggling to bring about it's own justice for the wrongs committed long ago.The story is riveting and very interesting. A little more character development would be interesting and a little more cleaning up in the ending. What do the people think of the serial killer that was living among them all of those years? What of the deputy's family and friends? I just think it needs to be wrapped up in a little neater package. Very good job and well worth the time to read.

The story had some potential and started out very creepy. The gruesome factor also was maintained relatively easily. My issues with the story lie in the poorly tied up and implausible (based on the criteria the story provided) ending. I think this is one story that would have done much better with a well written epilogue. There were also some things that just didn't make sense or follow the flow. However, I did like the characters even if they weren't entirely sensible.I did enjoy the read- and it was short. So its recommended, just not highly.

This book had all the aspects of a good suspense novel. We had witches, curses and murder with ghosts. This book grabbed my attention from the beginning I had trouble putting it down until it was finished. Good and fast moving plot. This author has a real talent.

Good story, keeps you engrossed and you will end up reading it in one go, as i did. Very detailed narrative and things keep moving fast throughout the book, though one or two places it would have helped to have breaks in the same as i kind of lost track of what was happening. Overall a well written book with an interesting story-line. Would recommend it to others too.(I received this book as part of Library thing giveaway)

Difficult to review, overall I enjoyed it, but the writing didn't shine or fully immerse me in the story. I have no great specific criticism but the writing style didn't stand out in any particular way. It's not a bad book, or I wouldn't have finished it, some very nice ideas within the story.Worth reading it just didn't sparkle for me.

Lysander has recently moved to a new town with his family and begins to have seizures and images of a past life. Lysander meets Sam at his new school and they instantly hit it off and realize they have more in common than they thought. Lysander and Sam work together to try to solve the mystery of Lysander's images of a past life and find a murderer who has been killing people in Millingham for decades. A good read, I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent, spine chilling horror! It does remind me a little of Stephen King's work, without the drawn out details of the story :D I hope we are going to see more from where this master piece came from?

Book Title: MaliceAuthor: Griffin HayesPublished By: Trebor BooksGenre: HorrorRecommended Age: 13+ Reviewed By: Emily Tuley / AngelsCryHavocBlog Reviewed For: Great Minds Think Aloud Literary CommunityRating: 4 RavensWon from a giveaway on Librarything I was curious when I saw the cover and read the synopsis of the book. A little leery and on my way to wanting something more new and fresh to read than the usual of my genre pool as of late I decided that a break from Zombies or some Paranormal Romance this would be just my cup of tea and picked it for my read this week. I was gladly not disappointed. Upon reading the book I was pulled in and could not stop turning the pages. The concept was nice and fresh with a little bit of the old classical horror feel from most angles. It’s about Lysander a young man new to the area alienated not only by peers and classmates for how he dresses and how he acts sometimes but as well by his own father who seems to hold a grudge against him for the past loss of his little brother that never came to full term and the injury to his mother. Now with their home having been burned down they have moved to the town of Millingham and little did they know that the darkness there was ready to consume them all or at least Lysander. Samantha Crow daughter to the town Sheriff and all around dark girl or Wiccan as most do not know or understand has been having nightmares herself of her mother and her mothers death. She doesn’t believe that her mother committed suicide like her father and others of the town are trying to make her believe and she’s not only right the murderer is out there still and looking for her and Lysander. Together these two face hell only to find out the dark past of themselves their souls and the town. Together they will have to correct the mistakes of their past and past lives and try to out live the killer that is hunting them and some of their friends and family down. I have enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from Griffin Hayes. A wonderful action filled story and one I highly recommend.
