This is a short book on how to evoke the philosophical principles behind alchemical symbols through the method of magickal evocation. Some will no doubt find this idea as rather odd—and, I admit, it does seem odd—but most of the old grimoires which teach evocation also explain these Spirits in terms of astrological symbolism. Alchemical symbolism is not that far removed from astrological symbolism and my own studies have led me to conclude that there is a deep occult connection between Spirit evocation, astrology and alchemy. I am not entirely clear on what this connection is just yet, but it appears to me that the methods outlined in this book are perhaps a way of finding out. But even if not, these methods certainly lead to some interesting experiences.

It is my contention that alchemical (and philosophical) principles can be evoked in a similar manner to the Spirits described in traditional grimoires. Or, in fact, the same way: the principles of evocation applied to both, even though the experiences that one has of them may be different. Traditionally, it has only been angels, demons, elementals, ghosts, gods and goddesses, etc. which were evoked in a magickal setting. I have not yet seen examples of grimoires where alchemical principles were encountered in this way. Yet from experimentation and practice I have found that it is indeed possible to evoke them in the same way, and I think that anyone who has the ability to evoke a Spirit
