- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Jacob two-two is the youngest. No one ever listens to him so he has to repeat himself two times. This becomes a problem when he has to get two pounds of tomatoes from the grocer and is thrown into children's prison for insulting an adult. I was surprised at Jacob's ingenuity as he devices a plan, with the help of Child Power, in order to escape from prison. I especially liked the character of the Hooded Fang, who certainly isn't as he appears to be. A book recommended for children in grades 3-5 as this is a primarly text based chapter book with a few illustrations throughout.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A young boy, Jacob repeats everything twice. Wanting some independence, his father agrees to let him run an errand to pick up some tomatoes. At the store, mistaken for insulting a grownup by repeating himself, he is imprisoned by the Hooded Fang and other big people. Jacob Two-Two and hundreds of other children are then set free by Child Power superheroes.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5First published in 1975, a children's classic, and a favourite from my childhood. A funny, slightly scary but wonderful adventure of a boy, the youngest in the family, who says everything twice because nobody ever listens the first time. He is sent to a terrible prison for being rude to a grown-up, but Jacob Two-Two bravely triumphs over the ridiculous Hooded Fang, with the help of his friends and his super-hero brother and sister. Canadian author Mordecai Richler later adapted the story into a play for children. Delightful illustrations by Fritz Wegner. Suitable for ages 6 to 10.
