101 Awesome Bible Facts for Kids - Sandy Silverthorne
Bible.
1 WHAT WAS THE FORBiDDEN FRUiT?
Most people assume the fruit was an apple, but the Bible never tells us what it was. The fruit could have been a peach or even a pomegranate. The important thing to remember is that God said not to eat it, and Adam and Eve disobeyed.
The woman said to the serpent, We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it’
(Genesis 3:2-3).
2 ADAM = MAN = DiRT
Adam’s name comes from the Hebrew word a da ma, which means the ground.
When God made Adam, He used many of the earth’s elements, including hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen and oxygen make water, and water makes up more than half your body weight.
Then the LORD God took the man [a da ma] and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend it and keep it (Genesis 2:15).
3 WHERE WAS THE GARDEN OF EDEN?
The Bible mentions four rivers near the garden. You can still find two of these rivers on maps today—the Euphrates and the Tigris. Check it out. They flow into the Persian Gulf on either side of Iraq.
The name of the third river is Tigris; it flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates (Genesis 2:14
