The author, Adrian Fleming, lives in the UK but has also lived and worked in the US too, is a serial entrepreneur, coming up with, developing and investing in many ideas and turning them in to businesses, along the way learning what to do and what not to do, as not everything an entrepreneur does, even the most famous ones, is successful.
As Adrian puts it:
"This is the book I wish somebody had written and given to me because it would have saved me a massive amount of time, money, effort and stress on my entrepreneurial journey."
But that's not all, because some things are best not left to the book or audiobook format and so as an added bonus...

To my parents, David and Elizabeth,
my partner Alison, and Jimmy (our dog):
thank you for the years of support, and the
things you have taught me (yes, even Jimmy
has taught me things, as I will explain later).
Without you all, not only would I have been
unable to write this book, but also I would not
have had the personality, determination and
work ethic I make use of every single day
but I guess that’s what makes me who
I am and that’s why I do what I do.

INTRODUCTION
Before we start on this journey together, I want you to know that this book is just the start of things, the beginning of your new lifestyle, and even though I’m not with you in person, I am here for you, and passionate about helping you achieve what you desire – so long as it’s benefiting you and the people you sell to and work with too. You should always look to add value and help others first; trust me when I say that any other strategy for being an entrepreneur is not nearly as fulfilling, either personally or financially.
I also want to thank you for investing in this book. Even if you didn’t buy it, you are investing your time, which is far more valuable. I want to make sure I give you as much value as I can in as short a time as possible, and also more than you expect – again, a key to success as an entrepreneur. So the first thing to do, which I know is a little strange, is to suggest that you go to the following website, where you can sign up for some free video training which, once you have gone through this book, will make things even easier to apply in your own situation. I’m not going to spoil the surprises yet, but as we go through this book together I will tell you what you will find on the website and how you can use it to your advantage, so head over to www.theentrepreneursbook.com and enter your details there, so I can help you get results faster and more predictably than I can just from the words in this book.
One thing I want to make quite clear at the outset is that I believe anybody can be an entrepreneur. Factors like money and education are not relevant – you will discover why later on. My journey started over 30 years ago; as I write this, I am 41 years old. Now I know you are wondering how my journey could have started at the tender age of 11, but it did, as I watched what was going on at home and got involved as much as I could. You see, I was fortunate enough to grow up in a household where my father David, was very much an entrepreneur. In fact his story, growing up in Glasgow at a time when things were hard, becoming a highly respected and incredibly successful businessman, due in no small part to his determination, work ethic, and the support of my mother Elizabeth, is far more amazing than mine. His and my mother’s achievements, personality and support have, understandably, been a major influence in my life and have allowed me to do what I do, the way I do it.
I would also like to add that my parents’ values, their upbringing, and also the way in which they have worked hard, and still do today (even though I wish they would take it easy – they’ve more than earned it) have all been a major factor in their continued success, making them who they are. Perhaps it’s no surprise that others who grew up in the same part of Glasgow, at the same time, have also been successful; a well-known example of this is former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who has achieved more than virtually anybody else in his chosen field.
Simply put, success in any field, not just being an entrepreneur, is a skill that I believe anybody can learn and apply, and in this book that I have written for people who are or who want to be entrepreneurs, I want to help you discover what to do and not do, enabling you to get from where you are today to where you want to be, in the shortest time, with the least stress and at the lowest possible cost, both financially and personally. I want you to learn from my experiences, achievements, and more importantly, my mistakes, so that you don’t have to make them.
When it comes to mistakes, trust me when I say I’ve made a few, which I will share with you along the way. However, something I have found is that it is possible to learn more from mistakes than you from success, and as such I encourage you not to be afraid of failure. Failure can actually be a good thing; the reality is that not everything you do will be successful, you will make mistakes and you will face stress and frustration, and these are the times when what you learn here in this book can really make a difference.
So my job now, is to help you identify opportunities and support you by giving you techniques, strategies and frameworks that enable you to capitalise on those opportunities and realise the benefits quickly, cost-effectively, and at as low a risk as possible; so let’s get started.
CHAPTER 1: HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN ENTREPRENEUR?
What I’m going to share with you is based not just on my own experience, but also on substantial research I have done. It concerns what I believe an entrepreneur is, and what it takes to successfully be that type of person. Being an entrepreneur is all in your personality: it’s the way you live your life and approach not just business situations, but personal ones too.
My focus here is on how I can help you make more money, if that’s what you want; but more than that, it’s also about how to achieve greater results with the same or fewer resources, while at the same time being significantly happier with your lifestyle, as you stop trading time for money and start trading outcomes for income and the opportunity to make decisions on your own terms – in the end creating a win-win deal not just for you but for all involved in the process, including customers, suppliers and even friends and family too.
The systems I use and will share with you here work on both a personal and business level; for an entrepreneur the two are never that far apart. Most of the techniques I use don’t require you to be an entrepreneur to benefit from them, but if you are, it will take your results to a whole different level, both personally and professionally.
What I’m about to share with you can be described as entrepreneurial training. No matter what others say, I believe anybody and everybody can be a successful entrepreneur if they want, and I will show you how and why.
Others may say that what I’m going to reveal is more about personal development; this is true to a certain extent, but I’m not going to suggest that you do anything other than what you are naturally capable of doing, because no matter who you are, where you live, what resources you have, your education or even your experiences, none of those things are anything other than historical details which have little or no impact on your future success; the reality is that there are people who started with very little who have achieved a great deal and those that were given every opportunity who wasted it.
What I do and will show you might also be described as marketing or trading; again these two elements have their place in being a successful entrepreneur, but they are not the only things you need to know.
I personally explain what I do and am about to share with you as helping you to develop as an entrepreneur; to me it’s a no brainer
, because as far as I am concerned, having somebody else determine my income, my work hours, my lifestyle and what I do with my time is crazy and totally counter-intuitive; I’m guessing that you think that way too, which is why you are here and why I’m determined to do my best to help
