    I leave the light on

    Down there

    Don't nobody care

    About where I've been

    Or about my shame

    The darkness, it just scares

    Me right into a stare

    At the wall

    Where I used to

    Trace your name

I'm as empty as that place

    Where there ain't nothin

But where I used to touch

    Your face

    And I'd get lost

Having everything I fought to save

    Tonight, I don't think

That I could put down my drink

And have to go back to that

    Lonely, lonesome home

Where it all leaves me all alone

And there's no one there to hear me say

That I wish with all my might

    That each and every night

You'd at least, in a dream, come my way

    It all ended wrong

    But I couldn't carry on

    If I didn't have a... memory

    And all along,

I've been down, and I've been drawn

Into a hole without my soul but with... misery

Every minute is a sentence like I've been jailed

But I know it ain't jail cuz it's just my own Hell

And the penalty is death, so slow that it chokes

    Out all my breath

    And I don't have anything

    Tonight, I don't think

    That I could put down
