About this ebook
All Saints’ Tudeley is one of the oldest churches in the Weald of Kent. Christian worship has taken place on the site for well over a thousand years. The countryside around Tudeley was a place of ancient industry and now is one of rural tranquillity. The church has experienced both peaceful times and more uncertain periods as the parish has reflected the wider changes and unrest of English society.
The church building has undergone demolitions, restorations and repairs over the centuries, but none more striking than the reordering of 1966 and the subsequent installation of stained-glass windows created by the renowned Russian Jewish artist Marc Chagall. It is the only parish church with a full set of Chagall windows, and people from around the world now come to enjoy their beauty.
