About this ebook
Curse of Arachnaman follows the events in the first three books in the Masks series. Eric is settling down into a near-normal existence. He’s learning to cope with a different kind of closet -- being kept from talking freely about his relationship with Calais and the other superheroes -- as well as an increasingly protective mother, his sister’s new squeaky-clean boyfriend, and a bingo-obsessed best friend.
Eric also learns that, sometimes, being an asset to the forces of good means simply being himself. In the meantime, Vintage City is under siege from a new threat, one which is proving to be much more dangerous than all of the other supervillains the heroes have faced combined. Good people find themselves at the mercy of an angry lunatic who will stop at nothing to purge the city of what he sees to be undesirable elements.

I’ve lived most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area though I wasn’t born there (or, indeed, the USA). I’m married with no kids and three cats. I started off as a writer of gay young adult fiction, specializing in contemporary fantasy, historical fantasy, and historical genres. My books ranged from a superhero fantasy series to reworked and original folktales to Victorian ghost fiction. I’ve since expanded to gay New Adult fiction, which reflects similar themes as my YA books and varies considerably in terms of romantic and sexual content. While I’ve published with a small press in the past, I now self-publish my books. Please visit my site for exclusive sales and publishing updates.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I think it was a bit more interesting when Eric was training to be a supervillain's sidekick. In this book, he seemed recovered from his brush with the super-villainlyness, and was a completely normal, bratty and occasionally selfish but very funny teenager. I really enjoyed the bit with his journal--from shopping for it to writing in it, and his love-hate relationship with it.When Eric wandered into the retro arcade and robot spiders attacked, there was a mention of Eric feeling something cold against his neck. I was so sure he was going to turn into a human arachnid hybrid thing, and so was worried about him. OMG! What if the good guys couldn't come up with an effective antidote? But then it turned out I was worried about nothing. It was probably mean of me that I was actually disappointed that nothing happened to Eric. :)Oh, and Freddie is awesome! Not even counting the fact that he can turn into the most interesting people and creatures! :D
