Chapter One

You came to me of your own free will. You bared your body, your mind, and your soul. We explored many things, both pleasurable and painful, and I am honored to collar you today. As we travel the next part of our journey together, we do so confident in our trust and secure in our love. With this collar, I claim you as mine.

Sam’s light-green gaze met Katie’s as he opened the collar at its hinge. She stepped forward, signaling her decision to accept.

She jumped when the cold metal touched the sensitive skin of her neck. His fingers brushed over her nape where he held the collar shut, and she shivered. Goose bumps rose in a wave over her, emphasizing her nakedness. The lock closed with a quiet snick, and happiness bubbled up from the depths of her soul. The weight of the new adornment sent tingles outward from where it met her skin, even as it warmed her with its meaning.

Tears welled in her eyes. Kneeling at his feet, she laid her lips on the buttery-soft leather of his left boot then the right. She glanced up at him, and he cradled her damp cheeks in his palms while she spoke.

You found me and helped me find myself, even when I was hiding. You accepted me when I was afraid. You were willing to let me go, to do whatever was best for me. You encouraged, guided, and inspired every step of the way. You complement me in every way, and I am ready to accept your claim. You will be my Master, and with a joyous heart, I freely choose to be your slave. Her chin wobbled and her voice quavered, the emotions rising from within to spill more tears.

Sam slid his hands down, pausing to caress the metal that circled her neck then cupped her elbows to help her stand. With a smooth, gentle brush of his lips, she sank into his touch. He grew bolder, thrust his tongue into her mouth to tangle with hers, and she clung to him with a whimper.

Soft applause brought her back to earth, and Sam drew away with a nip to her bottom lip. Katie’s skin prickled with an all-over hot flush and she stroked the steel collar with delicate, hesitant touches. It had finally happened, and she could now call him—

Sam slipped a finger through the O-ring on the collar, interrupting her thoughts with a tug. It’s time to play now, my beautiful slave.

Yes, Master. Excitement raced across her nerve endings as she once again became trapped by his gaze.

He led her to the middle of their spacious in-house dungeon, and there stood a beautiful, sturdy red-chestnut St. Andrew’s cross built by his own hands. Next to the X-shaped device stood a tall table with implements of her pain and pleasure laid out on its surface. Close by the center stage he’d set were three spanking benches complete with tie points, a high-backed chair, a padded table, and two couches.

Katie waited in front of the cross as Sam picked up a leather cuff and wrapped it around her wrist. Then he added a matching cuff on her other wrist and jerked on the attached D-rings to make sure both were snug. She pulled back just a bit.

His eyes sparkled with amusement. And where do you think you’re going?
