About this ebook

Tsara Adelman is a happily married mother of two (three if you count the dog), enjoying her unruffled existence in the Boston suburbs. One day she receives an invitation to a lavish housewarming party at the New Hampshire estate of her uncle, Castle Thornlocke, from whom she has been estranged for twenty-five years due to a family quarrel. With some hesitation she accepts but leaves her husband and young children behind for the weekend.

The night of the party Tsara is abducted by two men who take her to a primitive cabin in the woods. There the larger of the two, Mike, tells her that Castle has kidnapped several of the local children and is holding them captive until their parents pay him the balance of an illegal loan he extended to them. Although Mike himself was not party to the loan, his son was abducted along with the other kids. Mike tells Tsara that he has exhausted all his other options for retrieving the boy and his friends, so he has decided on a prisoner exchange and will trade her for the children the next day. Tsara is baffled, wondering if Mike is delusional or her uncle is a criminal.

In the morning Mike’s associate, Jim, delivers a ransom note to Castle, who shoots at him with a rifle, narrowly missing. Tsara’s brother Court, also a guest at the house, discovers her absence and calls the FBI. Soon Mike and his captive are on the run from federal agents as well as the local police—two brothers, Jordan and Arnold Stone, who have a penchant for violence and a long-standing feud with Mike. Since they are the ones who kidnapped the children and secreted them in an outbuilding on Castle’s land, they have every reason to want to be sure Mike and Tsara meet with a very bad accident as they flee through the beautiful but deadly mountains of New Hampshire’s North Country.

Wrong Place Wrong Time by Tibia Klebenov Jacobs As the story opens, Tsara is attempting to decide whether or not she wants to attend a party her estranged uncle is throwing. After speaking with her husband and brother, she decides to go and finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time when she becomes an unintended kidnap victim. WRONG PLACE, WRONG TIME tells the story of the kidnapping and how it affects the lives of those involved and their families. I am not sure how much I really liked or disliked this story. Honestly at times I couldn't put the story down. Then at others I had to go do something else, to keep from merely skimming the pages as it was a little long winded to me. For me the beginning and middle were the best. I found the story of the kidnapping and return of Tsara well written and interesting. I thought the descriptions of the kidnapping itself as well as the events occurring after excellent. It was the portion after Tsara is returned home I really didn't care for. I found all the last portion boring and unintriguing as I could care less about finding baby sitters and pet sitters. I thought this took away from the story.

The story opens with Tsara accepting an invitation to her estranged uncle's extravagant fund raiser party in a mansion in New Hampshire. Because of family logistics with a dog and 2 small children, Tsara's husband David decides to stay behind and take care of the home front. Little did they know that Tsara would be kidnapped that weekend and would have to struggle to keep her body and her psyche from being damaged by the rough treatment of the captors. They claim to be innocent men who were doing this to have a bargaining tool to deal with her Uncle Cass, who is supposedly holding one of the men, Mike's, son hostage in the mansion's wine cellar.

The book seems to fall into three connected themes, in my opinion: first, the party and the kidnapping, next the court proceedings and the emotional fallout from being held hostage. The last section I won't share because that would be a spoiler. I found the beginning to move slowly and pointlessly until the kidnapping, then the story picked up and held my interest. But when I thought the plot had reached its conclusion and the story would end, it actually kept on going and that dampened the excitement of the middle part. The author is a talented writer and I did enjoy it enough to keep reading, but I felt the storyline needed tweaking; it seemed to lack cohesiveness. There were too many random sentences and paragraphs that detracted from the whole, and I found the whole theory behind the kidnapping of both the children and Tsara to be unrealistic. But all in all, because I did enjoy the concept of the story very much and more than half of it, I gave it 4 stars. Recommended for fans of clean mild, suspense.

Tsara receives an unexpected invitation from her Uncle Cass, who she has not seen for decades due to a falling-out between Uncle Cass and her late father.Wealthy Uncle Cass and family give employment to many in the nearby village so they are popular, but not with all. Jealousy, maybe?Given the best suite in her uncle’s castle, Tsara is prepared to enjoy a magical no-expense-spared party.Dinner and dancing go well and Tsara returns to her suite. Then it all goes wrong!Lots of tension as the story unfolds – a worthwhile read.

First, I received this e-book from NetGalley for my review and enjoyment.Having just finished Jacob's book, Second Helpings at the Serve You Right Cafe, I was anxious to read this novel. Her story starts out in a beautiful, lakeside estate in New Hampshire at the home of Tsara's wealthy uncle, unseen for many years. When the kidnapping of Tsara, the main character, happens – the story moves on from there in the town of Libertyville, New Hampshire. There are many twists and turns, many characters involved, but it is all very easy to follow, and speeds along as the story becomes more thrilling. The reason I did not give this 5 stars was the length – at times I was turning pages rapidly to get to the next part, to see what develops. I will continue to be a fan of Tilia Jacobs – she is a good find!!
