Reason for Reading: Next in the series.I enjoyed this volume a might better than the first since I at least knew what to expect but was still disappointed. Sure I love the illustrations; they are cute and all once you get used to the teeny kids and I like the expressions the artist can convey just with the character's eyes. But story wise I did not find it satisfying. Too many questions were left in my mind and no questions were answered. What happened to Portia's father? Is Jellaby an imaginary friend? If so, why can others see him? Or do they really see him? The ending leaves this all up in the air and just left me feeling flat and disappointed. Others really enjoy this little series but I have to say it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Jellaby, Monster in the City is a good book to read. This book is about how Portia, Jason, and Jellaby try to find Jellaby's home. It is a big adventure. Portia and Jason don't get along sometimes, but they always make up. Portia and Jason have to look out for Jellaby until they have found his home. They all have become good friends. Can they say good-bye to Jellaby forever? This is a good book by Kean Soo.

Jellaby is about a dragon named Jellaby who is stuck in our wold. On there Juruny the go to a amusement park. There the fiend a magician who knows how to get Jellaby home. But they don't know that the magician is hiding a secrete. This is the most weird book I have read. The book starts on chapter eight. there is no good ending either. The story line is very there is nothing but rising action through out the book. I don not recamend this book.

Yay! I'm so glad the second Jellaby finally came out. Portia, Jason, and Jellaby come closer to finding out where Jellaby is from, while Portia gets a chance *maybe* to confront her father, who has been missing for years but seems mysteriously connected to Jellaby's appearance. There's monsters, there's talking pigeons, and lots of carrots! This was a fast-paced volume and it was over before I knew it. I really like how Soo shows Portia's strengths and weaknesses... she's so strong, but she's also a young girl who's missing her father and has trouble really keeping friends and letting them get close. Xolotl's story (read the book to find out more!) is also sad, and it leaves me with a lot of questions. I have to think there will be another volume, to reveal more about the masked figure, Jellaby's history, and Portia's father, but the way this was ended made me almost think that this was it. I really really really hope that's not the case! I would've also liked more Jason... because Jason is sweet and funny, and there's obviously something going on there with his connection to Xolotl. So... more please! On a tiny note, Kean Soo's note about the Food pavilion was hilarious.
