About this ebook

Arrested and put in a young offender's institute for using his precocious code-solving skills to steal money, things are looking bleak for Jonah Wish.

Then, in the dead of night, a gang of four teenagers break him out. They work for Nathaniel Coldhardt, debonair master criminal and leader of a team of highly trained teen thieves. Kids with amazing skills but no one who will miss them.

Jonah, a genius at cryptology, is their newest recruit. His talents are perfect for the next assignment Coldhardt has in mind - his most daring yet.

But before Jonah can turn his thoughts to deciphering the complex Egyption symbols and the treasures - or secrets - they hide, he has to decide if this is what he wants for himself. Coldhardt may have chosen him, but will he choose Coldhardt? And does he have any choice . . .

The first time I read this I was in high school. This book is probably why I love Leverage so much, or even gave it a chance. I love reading about and watching con artists.

An interesting book which managed to hold my attention from beginning to end. That said however I did feel that the ending was obvious, with a story line that held no surprises along the way. The story line was one that I had read before in other places. The general story line is that a bring boy with a bad background is freed from prison by a misterious group with an even more misterious boss. This boss gives his protogies all that they want in terms of material posessions and encourages them to be a family, while using them to carry out various quests. Yes something goes wrong, yes the main character dispite being new has an important and necessary role to play.one for the teenagers who have not read it before

Jonah is two months into a year stint in juvenile detention when some strange kids show up in the middle of the night ready to bust him out. They are part of a group whose services are expensive and the work is risky. Jonah's computer skills make him high in demand. He must decide if he'll work with the other four of "Coldhardt's Children" in their criminal adventures that lead them to travel, steal spy, and maybe even find the secret to living forever. Could this be the family he has always been looking for?Fans of the CHERUB series will enjoy this series too.

Kidnapped from jail, Jonah becomes part of an elite team of teenage outlaws. At first, Jonah uses his computer skills to assist the team. After having second thoughts, Jonah asks to leave. Will Jonah be able to survive on his own, or will he be drawn back into the mystery and suspense of the gang.

Umm... I like the premise a whole lot better than he actually pulls it off. This kid, who just happens to be a computer genius, gets himself in some trouble and put in jail. These other kids break him out and try to talk him into joining their team, led by their benefactor. Well, Jonah goes along with it for a little bit, then decides that the life of a thief isn't for him and tries to get out. Things go completely haywire then and there's all sorts of backstabbing going on from like, everybody. It actually started to pick up around there, and it's not a bad book. I'm just not sure these action-adventure stories are my kind of thing....
