    We miss you; Queen

    Dedicated to our Mother, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Worthon

    Our Queen (1942-2014)

    We miss our Queen's love,

    like a guiding star,

    we kept the faith, Lord! Look where we are.

    We slept to noon

    and stayed up nights-we cut on the switch,

    but, could not see the light.

    We prayed the psalms as polar winds blew,

    we hoped and knew,

    that's all we could do. We brave with broken hearts

    and grieved to bear,

    we miss you Mom, our Queen's loving care.

    Dedicated to Hallie Quinn Brown

    (1845-1949)

    Hallie Quinn Brown, child of former slaves,

    visited a lord's castle in England;

    as guest of the Lord Mayor of London
