About this ebook
Arcadia has chased the nefarious figure known as “Black Wolf” across Greece, Belize and Guatemala, and now she has one last lead that will take her across the ocean once more, this time to Egypt. Her villainous foe had arrogantly let his destination slip before escaping upon their last encounter, and this time Arcadia has some help from the most powerful man in the world.
Enlisting the help of her mother she contacts an old college professor; now the president elect of the United States. President Charles Thornton sees her to Egypt with the might of the American military in tow, ready to find a way to stop Black Wolf and make the world safe again. She knows this is her last chance to put him down for good, lest he go into hiding and wait for another chance to enact his plans to dominate the Earth. She’ll do anything to stop that from happening, even sacrifice herself.

Chapter 1
Arcadia looked at her father’s handgun, now one of the final gifts he had given her along with her life. There was also the rucksack, the food and water it contained, and the satellite phone which she now knew she needed to make a few calls on, the first of which being her mother in Albuquerque. She rummaged through the bag, then stopped for a moment before she pulled out the phone and addressed the Guatemalan police officer whose life she and her father had likely saved.
How long did the traffickers have you captive? Is there anybody out there who is worried like hell about you?
It occurred to Orlando for the first time right then that if he disappeared on one of his missions, nobody would ever know he was gone. He had been orphaned by a cartel-ordered revenge hit when his father killed the boss’s son in a shoot-out. Orlando had worked very hard in school and signed up for the military at sixteen, so he could be a police officer as an adult. He wanted to bring down the cartel that had taken his parents from him, so that no other young children in his home country would have to suffer his fate.
That goal had become all consuming; his life was the job. He shook his head and said, No. My job doesn’t leave a lot of time for relationships.
Okay,
she responded, punching in her mother’s house number. She refused to buy a cellular, fears about radiation and such. I have to make some calls, and then we’ll start heading back. I have a map in the rucksack, that my dad marked very thoroughly, I think we should have no trouble finding our way back.
Her mother answered on the third ring. Hello, this is Orquidea Dehiya.
She had insisted on being referred to by her tribal maiden name when her and Leonardo divorced. May I ask who is calling?
It’s me, mom,
Arcadia said soberly.
Oh, hello, darling!
the genuine joy in her mother’s voice stung, seeing as the news she had to share was so grim. Why didn’t my caller ID tell me who you were?
I’m calling from dad’s satellite phone.
"Oh, how is your father, dear? Not that I care... he thinks we’ll get back together because I toss him a lay whenever I’m down
