- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Franklin wants a pet, but his parents aren't sure he's ready for one. In this story, Franklin's parents describe all the work that goes into taking care of a pet, and he shows that he is ready to handle the responsibility. There are also descriptions of a variety of different types of pet. This story can teach children about what's involved in taking care of a pet, and what kind of pet may be best for them.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Franklin books do a great job of teaching various lessons, values, and morals to young readers. In this book readers learn about the responsibilities and commitment it takes to have a pet. In the book Franklin discusses why he would and wouldn't choose different animals for pets and how he came to the decide which pet is best for him. I love how Bourgeois describes every step so that young readers can understand and learn about thought process. Following steps and ideas to make a decision.
