    About the Author

Vivian Ellis, Jr. is the author of the highly documented, truth-in-theory eBook, Eyes Wide Shut: Understanding the Global System. The book shines a bright light in the dark areas of hidden agendas behind top ranging issues such as man-made global warming, health, individual surveillance, politics, non-governmental ruling organizations, and the impeding collapse of the current financial system.

He spent the Fall 2009 and Winter 2010 touring throughout the United States visiting over 120 colleges and universities in 48 states to promote the message of Eyes Wide Shut. A message that points toward — and culminates with — the gospel of Jesus Christ. He did so being armed with a passion to do God’s will and a drive (no pun intended) for saving other souls.

In order to undertake such a courageous journey of faith Vivian had to first forsake what many would view in the world as a prominent career in private wealth management. He spent two years in an advanced development management/advisor training program with one of the world’s leading & largest financial firms. He worked directly with clients, financial advisors, wholesalers, branch and regional managers on everything from tailored investment proposals & financial plans to co-authoring the Atlantic Coast Market Area’s 2010 business plan.

Prior to entering the wealth management industry Mr. Ellis founded in 2005 IE&P Entertainment Group, Inc. (IE&P) — a live entertainment promotion and marketing company based in Gainesville, Florida. In his capacity at IE&P he served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. He also held a rotational development position in 2001 and 2002 with FPL FiberNet, LLC — a subsidiary of FPL Group (NYSE: FPL).

Mr. Ellis graduated from the University of Florida in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer & Information Science and double minors in Entrepreneurship and Sales Engineering.

He also appeared as a guest co-host in 2010 of the hip urban 20 something Christian Radio talk program — Newd Radio.

Caribbean born, Mr. Ellis now resides in South Florida. He enjoys being active with friends and family, sports, and within his community.

    Acknowledgement

Special thanks and collective celebration to all those who have also bore the burden of light in a seemingly ever-growing dark environment. To all that came before, those today, and all that will follow, I say this, The dawn is near.

THE TRUTH IS A FLAME, ONE THAT HAS BEEN KINDLED!

FLAME ON — PASS IT ALONG.

    Preface

That which we think we know, we do not know. And that which you do not know or understand has the ability to move you. This document provides factual highlights about events that have transpired and those that are shaping the world today.

The topics addressed are some of the most important factors that will affect your future livelihood, as well as, that of your family. EWS addresses the root cause of a number of challenges we face today. In doing so, I thereby point to solutions from a factual, historically grounded, and claim-supported perspective. It does so with:

Over 270 footnotes & embedded references.

Of which, 57% are derived from government documentation.

Another 21% from direct, though non-governmental, sources.

The remaining 22% from reputable publications.

For your convenience, the information has been distilled into this one easy-to-read summary.

Five Years Later (from then to now)

It’s been five years since the release of the first edition of Eyes Wide Shut: Understanding the Global System. Enough time to reflect on the changes occurring around us. Some of these changes have been for the better; others pushing towards a greater demise. Before examining these differences — from then to now — let’s first take a look at the impact of this eBook and its accomplishments.

In its first year of release the host site received over 100,000 hits. At its peak of distribution, the site averaged over 17,000 hits a month over a six month period. During this time, over 80,000 copies of the eBook were downloaded for reading. Eyes Wide Shut: Understanding the Global System has also been an international success story reaching an amazing 26 countries worldwide.

Its impact has been extensive — from influencing political spheres both large and small to challenging the very social fabric of society. As with all change, it begins with the individual. Here is some of the feedback I’ve received from readers:

Thanks for the courage and direction.

I have however begun to spread your message, with complete fear of my loved ones thinking me crazy, but I know in the end that what I believe is true.

… personal change in my life and have independently, not through any church, strengthened my relationship with God.

Thank you for spreading the word, and then on top of it spreading The WORD.

A very well investigated report I have to admit.

Undoubtedly, the truth tends to have such an affect — especially when it is packaged in a balanced fashion and with a strong voice!

Now let’s review the changes from 2009 to 2014 with a focus on topics discussed in Eyes Wide Shut: Understanding the Global System.

This eBook was published at a very pivotal moment in global history. A raging debate on climate change was ongoing and at center stage. In the United States, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 was waiting in the wing. Internationally, global treaties and Cap-and-Trade taxation measures for controlling carbon dioxide emissions were also in focus. These measures collapsed all-the-more in the wake of new revelations that one of the sources for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) — namely, the Climate Research Unit at U.K.’s University of East Anglia — grossly fudged and misrepresented reported figures in support of their erroneous man-made conclusion. In "Climategate direct internal emails showed a contrary viewpoint. Many scientists also came forth exclaiming that they were coerced into complying with the IPCC’s agenda. Since then, inaccurate discourse on climate change being direct by human production has largely been muted. However, it is important to remember that in the 1980s the same effort was made under the guise of Global Cooling".

Two of the largest stories of the decade also took shape. The WikiLeak cable reports provided by Pfc. Bradley Manning showcased the extent and warmonger nature not typically seen by the general public. Meanwhile, computer professional and former CIA, DIA, and NSA employee/contractor Edward Snowden revealed the mammoth unwarranted scale of NSA spying on American citizens and abroad. Both illegal and unabridged, the intelligence gathering techniques includes:

Mass collection of data through secret backdoor and splitting in computing centers

Mirrors on major fiber optic channels of information (like email providers such as Google and Yahoo)

Backdoors on manufacture computers and phones.

NSA documents also showed an ANT Division Catalog of Exploits which includes systems called Nightwatch and Viewplate that even have the ability to reconstruct a target computers’ monitor images (without the need of wires or wireless connectivity) through progressive-scan frequency sync.

As for the U.S. financial picture, the national debt has risen from $71 trillion to $135.4 trillion according to USDebtClock.org. The Department of Treasury’s Financial Report of the U.S. Government for Fiscal Year 2013 reported that the debt ceiling was raised by a combined $2.1 trillion to $16.394 trillion between August 2011 and January 2012 pursuant to the Budget Control Act (BCA) of 2011. As of September 30, 2013, the Government’s total debt outstanding subject to the debt limit was $25 million below the $16.699 trillion statutory debt limit. This $17 trillion amount is non-inclusive of certain liabilities such as the Social Insurance Net Expenditures of $39.7 trillion and Total Non-Interest Net Expenditures of $4 trillion.

We also see — quite expectedly — further devaluing of the U.S. dollar (USD). Tabulations from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Price Index (CPI) Inflation Calculator show that one dollar in 1913 is equivalent to $24.07 in 2014. This equates to an annualized compounding rate of 3.2% for the 101-year time period. In reverse this signifies a devaluing (or present value) of only 4.15 cents.

As of August 29, 2014, with spot gold rates at $1,287, the corresponding USD value is now 3.28 cents (down from 4.44 cents). And with oil futures trading at $95.77, the appraisal for the USD coincides with that of gold at 3.54 cents (down from 5.06 cents).

From 2009 to July 2014, the U.S. Money Supply Growth (M1 Money Stock) has risen from $1.6 trillion to $2.876 trillion. This observation pegs the value of the USD at 10.71 cents versus the previous estimate of 18.76 cents.

All-in-all (Asset to Debt ratio excluded) the fair value approximation of the true value of the United States dollar is between 3.3 cents and 10.7 cents on a dollar. Again, the top end being very generous because of the relatively short backdating of Money Stock data (i.e. statistics date from 1975 as opposed to 100+ years of historical data for other entries).

The Social Security Trust fund is also being pinched. As of 2013, the fund will only be able to pay out 77 cents for each dollar of scheduled benefits by 2033. That projection is down a whopping 8 years from only 2008.

Meanwhile around the globe, the BRIC nations have added an S as in South Africa. Initially BRICS was composed of Brazil, Russia, India, and China. In July of 2014 they recently agreed to the creation of a $100 billion crisis reserve fund which would in function and appearance be a "mini-IMF" bank to only BRICS countries.

In summary, change is occurring rapidly in this world we’re living in. The ability to spot, recognize, adjust, and bring about your own change will determine the kind of environment we will see
