The Infinite Merit of Christ: The Glory of Christ's Obedience in the Theology of Jonathan Edwards
By Craig Biehl
()
About this ebook
Christ earned infinite merit by His obedience, the obedience comprising the righteousness by which sinners are justified. The free act of Christ giving His life was His greatest meritorious act, while all of Christ’s acts were both propitiatory and meritorious. In these, Christ accomplished God’s ultimate purpose to display and communicate His glory, consummated in heaven in the marriage of Christ to His bride, to the enjoyment of God’s glory forever.
Craig Biehl
Craig writes on various theological topics, including apologetics and Christian worldview, the theology of Jonathan Edwards, the infinite excellence and beauty of God, and the Christian life. He recently launched Pilgrim’s Rock to develop courses and other material to boost believers’ joy, comfort, and faith in Christ and Scripture, and to nurture in believers and their children a God-honoring and intellectually defensible worldview. In addition to other theology and Bible courses, Craig has taught the Unbreakable Faith course at the seminary, college, church youth and adult Sunday school level, and currently teaches the course at the Lancaster Bible College Center for Urban Theological Studies in Philadelphia. Craig received his AB in economics from Cal Berkeley, MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary, and PhD in Systematic Theology from Westminster Theological Seminary. He and his wife Angelica minister in Pennsylvania, where they are happy to be redeemed in Christ, to whom they owe all things, and apart from whom they are nothing.
