Acknowledgements
I would like to thank my parents, Antonio and Patricia, for teaching me the ways of the Lord during my childhood. They have been a great testimony of Christian parenting and are examples of the content of this series of studies
I also want to thank my wife Damaris and our three children, Isoel Antonio, Leonel Oscar, and Dariel Josue for their love and patience with me and for always believing God and his plans for us. This would not have been possible without them.

About the Author
Preface
Ever since Lucifer’s rebellion against God in the kingdom of Heaven, the fallen Satan has desired to destroy the works of God. After Christ offered us redemption through his sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, Satan has set himself against the church of Christ.
There are many ways by which Satan tries to destroy the church. His most effective methods of waging war on the church, however, do not begin at church. They begin in the home of every Christian believer. The church is not made up of merely individuals, but rather of families. By waging war on the family, the church will automatically come under attack as well.
It is obvious as we observe our world that the family unit is being pulled different ways for time and attention. There are internal forces, as well as external forces, which struggle to make the family unit collapse. Marriages have to fight against worldly influences that rob of them of their time together and of their purpose as husband and wife. Parents have to strive with the influences of secular education and their children’s school friends to keep their children from losing the foundation they have worked so hard to establish.
In a time when the people of God are facing a spiritual war which begins in the home, the Bible offers powerful principles to establish our homes and our families upon the Rock which is Christ.
It is the goal of this series of studies to strengthen marriages and families that pertain to Christ and his eternal kingdom.
1 The First Family
Biblical Foundation:
And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.
-Genesis 2:18
Introduction:
How often have we heard the stories contained in the Genesis account? When we hear the stories from the first three chapters of Genesis particularly, we might be tempted to think they are children’s tales with little if any life application. However, we should understand that all scripture is useful in study for every believer (2 Timothy 3:16).
