About this ebook
The first novel in the spellbinding Landry family series.
The only family Ruby Landry has ever known are her loving grandparents. Although her mother is dead and she has never met her mysterious father, Ruby is grateful for all she has, especially when her attraction for handsome Paul Tate blossoms into a wonderful love.
But Paul's wealthy parents forbid him to associate with a poor Landry, and when Ruby's grandmother dies, she is forced to seek out the father she has never known in his vast New Orleans mansion. There, in a house of lies, madness and cruel torment, a shameful deception comes to light, and Ruby must cling to her memories of Paul: for only their love can save her now.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I remember reading this one as well, but don't remember the story. I'm sure it was average.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The only V.C. Andrews book I ever read, I thoroughly disliked it. I remember it being a little weird and a lot boring. I was never inclined to go near any of these books ever again.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I remember reading this one as well, but don't remember the story. I'm sure it was average.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely five stars! This was a great book, and over all a great series.Though it's been a while sense I read the Landry books, I can still recall very well.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed this book. I felt that this ghost writer stayed true to V.C. Andrews writing style.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This wasn't bad, but I felt like things wrapped up a little too quickly and easily at the end. One second the girl's getting locked up, the next, everything's hunky dory. I'll be interested in seeing how things continue in the next book ... if it takes. Otherwise, I like it. And is it just me, or is the cover of every V.C. Andrews book hugely entertaining? This is actually the first V.C. Andrews book I've read. I happen to have this whole series (for once), courtesy of my dad's house cleaning.
