About the Author
Chapter one
It had been seven years when I saw her last. It was the last day our high school examinations. She moved out of the city soon after, while I remained behind. Not that there was anything going on between us, but still that was almost the end of what never started. And, now, after such a long period, I received a text message from Shikhar, my best friend from the school days. He had arranged a get together. When I learned that she is also going to come, at first, it felt like a dream come true, but soon I realized that what I couldn’t accomplish in four years together cannot be accomplished in an hour or two now. I had lost the last chance seven years ago, and yet a feeble hope had kindled somewhere deep in my heart.
When Sunday arrived, I waited eagerly all day for the evening. Even if I cannot woo her, just a sight of her is going to make me happy, I thought. In the foresight of a special evening the entire Sunday afternoon seemed to be excessively long and vastly uncomfortable. However, it passed in the end, and the evening arrived.
