About this ebook
This book was written in 1915, for the amusement of my wife and myself at a time when life was not very amusing; it was published at the end of 1917; was reviewed, if at all, as one of a parcel, by some brisk uncle from the Tiny Tots Department; and died quietly, without seriously detracting from the interest which was being taken in the World War, then in progress.

A. A. Milne
A. A. (Alan Alexander) Milne (1882--1956) was a noted English author primarily known as a poet and playwright before he found huge success with his iconic children’s books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh. Milne served in both World Wars and was the father of Christopher Robin Milne, upon whom the Pooh character Christopher Robin was based.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A classic re-read often, more adult than the Winnie-the-Pooh books. The illustrations are also beautiful, and I always remember fondly those 1000-league-boots.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is one of the books which (barely) survived from my childhood library,. I loved it, rereading it many times, before I every realized that it was by the same person who wrote Winnie-the-Pooh. It's the story of the kingdom of Euralia, complete with king, princess, and seven-league boots.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is the guy who wrote Winnie the Pooh. This is a children's book that would be entertaining for adults to read to their children becuase there's a lot of humor and satire thrown in for the grown ups.
