On the same day John Dillinger was gun down at the Biograph Theater in Chicago, Illinois. Johnny Baptist, Frankie Russo and Tommy Buchelli walked in the First National Bank of Kansas City, Kansas and announced their arrival in a hail of gun fire; directed at the ceiling. Johnny walked to the middle of the floor and announced they were making a withdrawal. Frankie headed to the counter. He threw a bag to the teller and pointed a shotgun in her face and told her to make it quick. The teller a girl in her early twenties stared deer in the headlight at the barrel of the gun before she nervously began placing money in the bag. Tommy stayed by the door watching for Hover’s Boys who seemed to always be one step behind them.  

Johnny noticed a kid clinging nervously to his mother’s dress. Johnny reached into a jar on top of the counter and took two pieces of candy. He gave the kid one, popped the other in his mouth then winked his eye at the kid. The kid smiled.

We got company. Tommy said.

Two black unmarked Sedan’s came to a stop across the street. Hover’s boys, you could tell Hovers boy’s by the crisp white shirt, dark bowtie, black three piece suits, and always clean cut from head to toe. The agents hurriedly took positions on the opposite side of the car. Only the end of the barrels of the gun were visible; an ambush in the making; but somehow
