About this ebook
ENRICO LUCCHESI
I do not like to be denied anything I want. And I want Kate Andretti with a fire that burns me to ash.
Carlo Andretti wants Kate too... and my fortune, my estate, my empire. Most of all, he wants my death.
Just as I want his.
The vendetta between our families is old and deep. Only one of us can win, and only one of us can have Kate.
Carlo believes that he can take what’s mine, that he can break me and make me crawl.
But I’m Enrico Lucchesi.
And a Lucchesi always gets what he wants.
KATE ANDRETTI
My mother always said my impulsiveness would get me into trouble. She was right. Marrying a man I barely knew, letting him take me to Italy... not my best decisions. Especially when I now know what the “family business” really is.
I want out of this life, and I want out of Italy. But the only person willing to help me escape the Andrettis is Enrico Lucchesi. And he wants me to stay in this world that I can’t bear to be part of.
The vows these men take talk about “blood and honor.” But I know what this life is: it’s blood and danger. It’s blood and death.
And I’m not ready to be a Mafia don’s wife.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5An enjoyable thriller. Though I did like the action parts with the mafia war more than the romance. It started off well, Kate was a smart and interesting heroine who acted sensibly when faced with a dangerous crisis. But then she goes and puts here trust in another dangerous mafia man. True Enrico was a much more honourable and much more likeable man but the whole will she won't she admit her true feelings did get a little annoying. It was a rollers coaster of back and fourth between he loves here so much but cant tell her the truth about himself and she knows there's something wrong and on more than one occasion she tries to leave even as she finds herself falling in love with him. And all the while there's a mob war going on.
The book was very well written and engaging and even though some parts of the romance were a little annoying I did enjoy it right through to the end and look forward to the next one in the series. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5bloody loved it
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5FOR 18+ READERS ONLY – Enrico Lucchesi is a Mafia don, head of the Lucchesi family in Italy, who is still mourning the death of his wife from a year ago. His wife was the daughter of a rival Mafia don, Carlo Andretti, whose mission of ambition and vengeance toward the Lucchesi family had been held back by this brokered marriage between his daughter and Enrico. Kate Andretti is a young woman from America who was swept off her feet by a handsome Italian gent, Vincenzo Andretti, nephew to Carlo, and recently married him, allowing him to bring her to Italy. However, Kate has now realized that Vincenzo is a domineering, abusive man with criminal Mafia ties and is seeking to escape the marriage by reaching out to her wealthy boss at the orphanage where she is working, only her boss is Enrico. Yet, the chemistry between Enrico and Kate is immediate, even though Kate is unaware that Enrico is also tied into the Mafia world, a world that has Enrico conflicted between his new honest feelings toward Kate and the rules of family honor and loyalty within the Mafia culture, especially when he discovers betrayal within his own family, as Carlo now feels free to resume his mission to avenge and achieve ultimate power. The war of vengeance, honor and power has begun. For the most part, this is a strongly written complex tale of the bonds of romance grappling against the moral ambiguity of a Mafia culture that constantly uses family honor to justify murder and the advancement of power. The thrills are intense and the suspense is strong, as the main characters struggle to determine who they can trust. However, although many readers may enjoy the heavily described erotic moments, I felt they occasionally dragged the story down as well as some of the moments of over-thinking by the main characters. Yet, the story mostly held me to the edge of my seat as I wondered if true tragedy would be avoided amongst all of the blood spilled.
