Session Man takes a look inside the world of the legendary guitar hero, Johnny Betts. During a limousine ride from Soho to mid-Manhattan Johnny offers a ride to a man standing in the rain holding a shabby guitar case. The case peaks Johnny’s suspicion causing him to wonder how the man came into possession of its contents. The mysterious passenger adds to the intrigue by providing Johnny with the opportunity to peek over the border of the here and now, and look directly into the past. The ride is an experience that Johnny won’t soon forget as he travels four short miles that spans 80+ years.

RP MAZARELLI Is a writer whose body of work includes articles, short stories, and novels. He is also a music publisher and has composed over 200 musical compositions. He has cultivated a life-long interest in the arts and sciences and continues to enjoy a long career supporting and advocating scientific research. His most recent scientific effort involves research related to aerial-aquatic drones which are the subject of his latest work, a novel entitled The Last Pirate.He created and produced the webinar Project Management in the Studio: Anatomy of a Recording Session for the Project Management Institute and is a member of the New York chapter of the Audio Engineering Society. He owns a music publishing company affiliated with Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI), and is a certified Project Management Professional.He received his BA from Eastern Connecticut State University and his MS in Information Systems from Salve Regina University.

Introduction (The Guitar Hero)
The first half of the 20th century set the stage for a new type of champion. An individual who would be born of flesh and at the same time assembled from spare parts of humanity. A composite being evolved from the Delta Blues man, the Jazz guitarist, the Blue Grass guitar picker and even the watered down Hollywood Singing Cowboy. But it was the electric guitar that would tip the scale and promote the metamorphosis of human and machine. From that metamorphosis emerged the Guitar Hero.
