I liked this book much better then the first book Thoughtless. Kiera was not as annoying in this book as the first. Although I did find myself wanting to strangle them both at times. Kellan really won me over in this book. It kept me on edge though the entire book. I went through the entire realm of emotions. From love to hate, anger to happy and even a few laughs added in to round it out. I would definitely recommend Effortless.

So I finished the second book in the series, Effortless, a few days ago and I must say that I am really glad that I read it. At first I didn't think a sequel was necessary but it turns out it was. There is true closure which made me feel much better for the characters. There were lots of lessons learned and important transformations. I was truly happy for everyone at the end. It was perfect! I can't wait for the 3rd book! This time I think another book is very necessary, I can't get enough Kellan! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!

For me this was better than Thoughtless. Kiera was a little less annoying although she's 20 something years old and certainly not a virgin, so why does she blush anytime anyone mentions sex?! And why is she irritated that people tease her about it? I would tease her mercilessly! Still love Denny. Glad he's back, and I'm so glad he has Abby. I find it all a little too convenient that everyone in the band is now shacked/hooked up with someone though... even Kate with Justin from whatever band was described in the book (I don't know who the bad is supposed to be). And Griffin is of course so psyched that he's having a baby.

The first book was sligthly better than this one with all the love triangle and cheating involved, but this one was one lame excuse for a sequence. Kiera managed to get even more annoying and obnoxious, Kellan was his sweet self and we got Denny with all his wounded pride but with a new love and extremely happy, but there's always Kiera to start thinking every single thing over and over with an obsession that only she manages.

The good point of the book was the thing with Kellan and his father and Anna with Griffin. I was cheering for them and I almost forgot about he whole schbang with Kiera and Kellan. And may I just say that everything that happened wrong in their relationship is Kiera's fault. Kellan had a legitimate reason to ot tell her about the texts but her reason about not telling him about Denny was laughable.

Anyway, I gave it a three star review because I still think that despite everything Kiera and Kellan are hot together and the secondary characters were way more captivating.

Oh My god, this book had me neglecting my daily life to see the outcome. Emotions were high throughout, and my heart was in my mouth on more than one occasion. Keira still had me tearing my hair out in places but I was glad that she finally matured through it all with Kellan. I loved the whole love story in this book, the ups and downs, learning to trust each other and never really giving up when you know that person is " the one".

Got myself in a deal. :o sort of. Will read it as soon as I finish my CR.

I don't know what rate I should give this book. This is certainly better than Thoughtless. The cheating part really don't do me so I didn't quite like Thoughtless back then. But in Effortless, since they are officially together, I started to like it. Heck, I started to really love Kellan Kyle. I started to see what the girls saw in him, why they get so gaga over him. Damnit, Kellan. YOU. ARE. SO. FREAKIN'. SWEET.

And I know this is so not a proper review since I'm just gushing out my feelings over the book and that hot rockstar, Kellan Kyle... But who effin' cares?! I loved it. I'm willing to give it a 5 stars right now. But... there's just this tiny bit of annoyance for both Kellan and Kiera. Although I totally understand them both by not saying anything and keeping secrets... Holy heck, just talk!

Effortless is basically just about them having trust issues since we all know what happened to Thoughtless and HOW they got together in the first place. And since Kellan and the rest of the D-bags got... in the ride (yeah, lame words, but that's the only thing I could say without spoiling the book), trust is really hard for both Kiera and Kellan. There's always the thought of someone cheating on someone.

But in the end, it was good. I even liked Griffin at the near end. I... Damn. Kellan is so sweet with all those notes... Crap. Also, this is the only time I cried because of this book. I didn't cry in Thoughtless (uh, maybe I did, in frustration), this is just totally emotional. The sweetness of Kellan teared me up. The issues between them teared me up (only the emotional ones not the you cheat on me drama)..

I also believe this should be the end of the story. I don't know why there's still third book, Reckless which would be out by March 2013. For me this is already a closure. I just hope in the third book, there's no cheating or else, I'm not reading it.

But yes, thumbs up for this one. 4.5 stars. Unlike Thoughtless which I gave only 2 stars, this is something that will probably make my friends (wink at Melissa and Dan) happy. :)

I wanted to dive back into Kellan and Kiera's story, the couple I met back in Thoughtless to see how life was treating them. A year has gone by and while the couple is very much in love they have brought with them tremendous baggage and trust issues. Not hard to understand seeing how they began with lies and cheating. Kiera doesn't trust Kellan and they cant go anywhere without running into a girl he hooked up with.....Kellan still has his doubts that Kiera will not cheat on him or find someone better. Even though they have some issues, the couple is happy and are totally trying to make things work. Then out of the blue the D-Bags get offered a chance of a lifetime to tour with a well known rock group, its a stepping stone to a record deal, only problem is they will be gone for six months. Can Kellan remain faithful while out the road with tons of girls throwing themselves at him? Can Kiera survive the loneliness and not run into another mans arms?? Will that crazy Denny show up and do a reverse Thoughtless on Kiera.....so many questions....tons of possibilities.Very predictable but yet still entertaining, I had a few hours of fun seeing how these ding-dongs could mess up an almost perfect relationship......despite its cheesy love scenes and complete silly ending, I did enjoy how Stephens brought closure to her characters and see a great future for the couple.

    **Spoilers**

After Thoughtless I was very happy to see that there was no cheating this time around.

At times Kiera got on my nerves with her ongoing insecurities; I understood why she was scared that Kellan might cheat on her, considering how they became a couple BUT she continiously whines about not being pretty/attractive enough in comparisons to Kellan's former conquests and that's what truely annoyed me because Kellan never does anything that would explain her issues.

That's not to say that Kellan is perfect, he has his own insecurities. He can't seem to grasp why Kiera loves him so much but at least his insecurities are explained by his past.

Again the authour used certain words so much that it started to annoy me, for example almost every male character was "sniffing" all the time. Again this irritated me a lot.

This book didn't have me hooked as much as Thoughtless did, or at least not in such an obsessive way.

But I still enjoyed reading it because of little things like Kellan's cute ideas to make the physical separation easier on Kiera.

And while there still was a lot of drama because of half-truths, missing information and bad communication, the characters showed a developmemt towards the end of the book. They finally seem to grasp that communication is very important for a successful relationship.

Especially happy made me the following sentence by Kiera: "I figured I would come out the bad guy in the story, hated, reviled for betraying a man as good as Denny. [...] But that was okay. I'd done it, and I had to live with the conaequences of doing it."

Finally she understood that while both men also made mistakes, she made the situation so much worse by being unable to make a decision and stringing both along.

I truely hope that the characters will continue this way in the third book and grow more as people and as a couples.

    P.S.: I can't help myself - Griffin is awesome.

Better than FSOG series and hotter than Christian and Ana! And so much more believable in my opinion. Effortless was even better than Thoughtless! Usually the sequel isn't as good as the first book, but S.C. Stephens managed to do just that in Effortless.Kellen and Kiera slowly build their relationship but there are so many issues they had to hurdle. My heart ached for Kiera when Kellen and the band were offered a chance at stardom. She was so supportive and stood by him even through a prolonged separation. I think what really got me was the female fans. Who wouldn't be jealous or feel as if they might be replaced? But when you consider Kellen's past, it's easy to believe he could be happy with one woman. The music/concerts were well described. I seriously went to bed with my head buzzing over the drama, the uncertainty, and the twists, which all kept my heart aching with Kiera.I loved everything about Effortless. All of the characters were well done! I do think S. C. Stephens should continue with this series.

I loved and hated this book. I loved Kellan Kyle, Loved! Loved! Loved! I want one for myself (my husband may not be too happy but oh well). Unfortunately Kiera frustrated me in this book even more than the first and she pretty much drove me crazy. Again though I couldn't put it down.
