R. M. Dolin

Ron Dolin owns the first distillery in the history of New Mexico with locations in Los Alamos and Santa Fe. He is also an engineer at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Ron has been writing all his life. He has published stage plays, screenplays, poetry, and short stories. Quiet Desperation is Ron's first full length novel. Story one - Al Azar is the first of three parts. The second part is nearly complete and expected out in early fall. Lots of decisions regarding plot and characters need to be made before the final story is told.

INTRODUCTION

These selected poems are from the novel Quiet Desperation. When I showed Nicholi an early outline for my novel asking for his critique, he responded by writing a poem expressing what each chapter meant to him. I was so moved by his art I felt compelled to include his poems at the beginning of each chapter of my novel as an emotional map to the story the chapter would tell. This collection of poems are from part one of my story in three parts. More of Nicholi’s poems will be added to this collection as parts two and three are published. My hope is that these poems move you the same way they moved me. Nicholi is a talented poet whose voice is like no other, as is his point of view.
