    Prologue

Don’t most stories start once upon a time on a dark, dark night, they do in fiction anyway. But this is not fiction or a fairytale told to frighten the gullible. Yeah, you heard me right. Don’t roll your eyes in the back row I saw you. A long time ago, many centuries before you were even thought of, in a faraway land there lived an old sorcerer. Not your cuddly, got a problem I’ll help you type, but your I’ll kick your ass if you don’t leave me alone type. Yeah, yeah I know what I say next will sound cliché but Edgar Vincent Ivan Lockwood wanted to achieve world domination.

He had no children. He said
