Dave Woodruf drained his Cuba Libre and replaced the glass on the polished mahogany. The bartender, a dark, leggy woman in a tight skirt, glided to him, took the glass, and wiped the bar with a clean white towel. Dave pushed a hundred dollar bill toward her.

For you. For good service.

The woman blinked at Dave and stuffed the bill into her cleavage. Gracias, señor, gracias. Anything you want, it is yours. She rested the palms of her hands high on her thighs to make sure Dave understood her meaning. Another Cuba Libre? Or will it be something else, señor?

Dave held up an index finger, as if he were thinking it over, but he really wanted to watch her for a moment. The gratitude in the doe eyes and the fawning pose were worth a hundred dollars. What would this stranger do for a thousand?
