Introduction

During the Mid 90's as a new believer in Christ I was stirred to read biographies and testimony about men of faith like F.B Meyer, Charles Spurgeon, D.L Moody, Charles Finney, David Livingston and so forth. As I read through these books I started to notice something. All of these men's incredible lives were linked, either by being in the same timeline or circle of influence. Even though some men were separated and in different continents of the world the Lord raised them up within there communities and they impacted the world. Even more stirring I realised that God's Holy Spirit was moving upon the earth and during the 1850's there was a time of revival. Men all over the world were coming to know the Saviour and pubs, brothels and gambling venues were being closed down because the owners were getting converted and leaving there old life. Families were being restored and Jesus Christ was being gloried.

Then during my reading the Lord also brought to my attention this one evangelist whom I believe D.L Moody mentioned in one of his writing named Duncan Matheson whom published a newspaper called the Herald
