The Paperbats: Metro Saves the Day

About this ebook
After the success of the first Paperbats book, this second book contains two more short young childrens stories involving the Paperbat family in more adventures.
In the first story, Herald discovers a fire, which is one the Paperbats greatest fears. With no park keepers around, the Paperbats try bravely to put it out themselves. Fortunately, Metro has invented something that can help.
The second story sees the young twins, Metro and Tel, belatedly looking for a birthday present for their dad, Herald. Yet such a simple plan sees them getting into lots of trouble.
All Paperbats are small furry creatures made of paper, and are found in most local parks. Un-noticed by humans, they try and protect our local parks from being damaged or destroyed.
Paperbats are not like other bats; they are made of paper for a start which is not good for flying in the rain, or being near fire, and due to them being very light, they are blown around a lot by the wind – which is however a key to why they are never recognised as it humans see them, as they only think that they are wind-blown pieces of newspaper.

Downloaded the first book and read it to my son. He loved the characters so much that I find myself buying this second book.

Very original concept, particularly in using everyday events in the storylines. Children will enjoy getting to know each Paperbat.

Part one
Metro Saves The Day
It had been another beautiful hot and sunny summer’s day in the park. Yet the grass and trees were becoming increasingly dry and shrivelled because of the lack of rain.
Encouraged by the lovely weather, many local people had been using the park throughout the day. The most popular activities were family picnics, playing sports and swimming in the central lake.
The Paperbat family had spent the day trying to remind visitors about keeping their park safe. They did this by using their special ability for altering the writing on their wings to show messages such as no littering, no swimming in the lake and no barbeques.
Grandpa Times and Granny Guardia had pretended to be posters, clinging onto the park keepers’ lodge
