    Introduction

There is a legend in Kashmir, India, that Lord Jesus survived crucifixion and travelled to Kashmir, with his followers. It is believed that he spent many years there before He breathed His last. The place where Jesus is believed to have been buried is called Rozabal Shrine of Sufi Saint Yuz Asaf in downtown Srinagar, Kashmir. It is said to be the final resting place of Jesus Christ.

The place has been controversial over the years and the shrine was recently closed down when an American writer, Suzanne Olsson, allegedly tried to exhume it.

Suzanne Olsson is said to be an extremely enthusiastic believer. The modest stone came into focus again in 2002 when Olsson arrived in Srinagar, claiming to be Christ's '59th descendant' and seeking DNA testing of the shrine's remains.

This almost unknown place was in the limelight for years because millions of Christians were curious to know about the years which have not been mentioned in the Christian Holy Scriptures about Christ’s life.

In 1973, a local journalist, Aziz Kashmiri, argued in his book that Jesus survived crucifixion about 2,000 years ago and migrated to Kashmir and he spent rest of his life there and he was buried in Srinagar. There was a lot of fervor after the publication of the book.
