The first of five short stories of Welcome to Dome City collection. It reflects on Sonny's life before the building of Dome City. It tells of a very unusal romance between Sonny and Bonnie. Bonnie was Sonny's soulmate or so he thought at the time. Sonny was so hurt by this relationship that it now reflects on how he interacts with women today.

WELCOME TO DOME CITY- The story of Sonny and Bonnie
By C.R. Nix
Smashwords Edition

When Sonny was at his loneliest point of his life he reached out to fill the void in his life. He had been divorced for almost ten years. He had been thorough a lot in his life. Seemed that he had a knack for attracting all the lest desirable women. He had seen and been through it all. From unfaithfulness, physically abusive, you name it, Sonny had experiences that would have hardened any mans heart.
Sonny was a creation of love. He was born of love, he lived for love. He had to be in love to fill like he was complete as a person. He had to be in love to fully function as a man. Unlike most men Sonny wasn’t a dog. Sonny couldn’t just have casual sex like most men. He had to feel something for the woman. He had to care or love her. That was Sonny, a big heart and he wore it on his sleeve for all to see. The thought of growing old and dying alone was his worst night mare!
After all he had been through, the disappointments the heartache he still soldered on! It was a wonder that Sonny wasn’t gay. He had even entertained thoughts of it. But the thought of another man kissing him or even touching him was repulsive. No Sonny enjoyed making love to a woman to much! He was happy with being straight. He wouldn’t have it any other way! So he reached out, asked his friends to introduce him to someone they thought would be a good match for him. After many disappointing blind dates, Sonny found one young lady he clicked with. A blonde haired blue eyed bombshell named Bonnie. She was thin but not anorexic thin, she was of Native-American and Scottish descent.
Much younger and the prettiest woman he had ever laid eyes on! If there ever was a thing as love at first sight this was it! It didn’t take Sonny long to fall head over heals in love with her! She encouraged him to be whatever he wanted himself to be! Sonny being the somewhat bookworm that he was had a passion for writing. She encouraged him to write, even became his inspiration. Truly this was the happiest time in Sonny’s life! He couldn’t remember ever being as happy as he was now. Sure there was times when her actions didn’t make sense to him. But Sonny ignored them all.
Believing in all that was good about being in love. He reasoned that love was from God and therefore it was all good! How could his feelings be wrong? It mattered not to Sonny that she had been with another man, living in the
