Blaming A Full Moon

About this ebook
The night was slowly making its way towards dawn. The first sunbeams were trying to force their way through the darkness that still enveloped everything around. The prevailing silence was not disturbed by the singing of the birds that were still sleeping at that time of the day. The only thing that measured the flow of time was the soft hooting of an owl hidden among the branches of the trees...
See what can happen on the full moon night...

Chapter 1
- Huh! Big deal! – She snarled while turning off the TV. Just a moment later a remote control landed with a loud clatter on a nearby table. The glass top of the table shook slightly. A cat scared by the sound sprang up to all fours and ran towards the blood-red sofa, full of soft, velvet pillows.
- A load of rubbish spiced up with full moon! Well, tell me why does it always have to be full moon?
The silence that followed the question was simply un-bear-able
.
And finally there came an answer – a long, quiet meow.
- Yes, I know – she said perfunctorily – everyone is fond of all that vampirism; beautiful, young gentlemen using their fangs to seduce unblemished, almost perfect young women… where is this world going?
The wind forcing its way into the room moved the thin sheer curtain that separated the inside from the outside. The gold threads woven into the fabric glistened like rays of moonlight reflected by a quiet sea. She shivered with cold, though it was a worm July night.
For an instant it seemed that a quiet knock on the door was just an impression that was meant to enhance the overtone of the moment. Or perhaps she simply misheard? It was only after a few seconds that the bang on the door became more powerful.
- Unless you’re a killingly handsome son of the night, go away! – She shouted while looking for her slippers.
- Stop fooling around or I’ll believe it and I’ll get one for you – a happy woman’s voice answered her, clearly audible despite the barrier between them.
The girl flung the door open.
- Promises, promises! – She said and let the visitor in.
Every time she saw her, she couldn’t manage the surge of envy welling up inside her. Layla had long, pure-golden and honey-coloured hair. Her eyes were sky blue and could hypnotize every man, and her marvellous lips looked as if they had been formed of rose petals. The whole of her was completed by the classic face universally considered the indicator of beauty. Today she was wearing royal crimson which emphasized the chocolate tint of her skin. She looked like a luxury Belgian chocolate which calls gobble me up!
and, frankly
