About this ebook
"Sara is a miracle worker! I am normally a skeptic when it comes to alternative therapies but she has me convinced. She devised a program for my cats involving flower essences and touch therapies and the change has been remarkable – my semi feral cat has been coming right up to me for attention, which I never thought I’d see happen. Sara has been invaluable. I wholeheartedly recommend her!"
~ Sally Poole
Do you have a cat that struggles with fear? A cat that hides under the bed and won't come out? A cat that startles easily? Worse, do you have a cat that lashes out and attacks anyone who comes near? Or do you work in a shelter and are surrounded every day with cats that are terrified and overwhelmed? No More Scaredy Cat is the easy, step-by-step program that puts an end to stress, fear and anxiety for the cats you love.
Using a combination of cutting edge alternative therapies and compassionate love for animals, renowned cat behaviorist Sara Goldenthal (author of Tucker the Spirit Cat), gives you a simple method that anyone can use to break down and gradually eliminate fear and terror in adopted, rescue and shelter cats.
Cats that are shy and timid can become much more confident. Cats that were previously unapproachable can be petted, and often enough, picked up and held. Even feral and semi-feral cats can begin to overcome their fear of people and enjoy a much higher quality of life.
The key to this program is the use of a product called Rescue Remedy. Rescue Remedy is one of the Bach Flower Essences - simple, powerful remedies available right now to cat owners and guardians. Rescue Remedy is not a drug. It is one of a system of liquid preparations developed by Dr. Edward Bach in the 1930s.
Bach was a medical doctor who had come to believe that the temperament and emotional state of his patients were crucial to their recovery – indeed, two people with the same illness, the same prognosis, and the same treatment would often have radically different outcomes.
“Treat the person, not the disease,” became his famous phrase. He began looking for a way to ease and re-balance emotional distress of his patients. In response, he developed the Bach Flower Essences and Rescue Remedy, which is a composite of five Flower Essences, and is the most powerful and popular of the remedies he created.
It is now understood that animals have individual personalities and emotions, just like people. As a result, although the Bach Flower Essences were created for humans, they are also used to good effect by animal shelters, pet guardians, veterinarians, groomers, and breeders alike.
Flower Essences, and in particular Rescue Remedy, can help alleviate sleep problems, grief, fear, trauma, depression, anxiety, panic, and a host of other ills our beloved animal companions might face.
All cats want love, and to be able to feel relaxed, calm and peaceful. Let No More Scaredy Cat show you how you can help the frightened cats in your life enjoy increased feelings of well-being, happiness, and closeness to you.
About the author:
Sara Goldenthal is a trained practitioner of both TTouch and the Bach Flower Essences for animals. She has more than a dozen years experience as a cat behaviorist, and has worked with hundreds of cats in private homes, as well as in animal shelters and rescues.
“Sara’s work with the cats at the HART shelter has been, in a word, phenomenal. Using her patient, gentle manner and techniques, she has made a big difference in the behavior of many of our “shy” shelter cats, and 10 have been adopted already! These cats would otherwise have been overlooked by potential adopters, in favor of the more outgoing cats. These cats have been given the gift of adoption and a life in a loving, secure home.”

No More Scaredy Cat - Sara Goldenthal
Thank You
I want to thank all the people who bring cats home from animal shelters, and off the streets. I especially want to thank the people who take the problem kitties; who take in, care for, foster, and adopt terrified, shy, depressed, and overwhelmed cats. As a favorite quote of mine goes:
To the world you may be one being, to one being you may be the world.
When and How To Use This Book
This book is meant to be easy to use.
The purpose of the book is to help you bring relief to your scared and stressed beloved felines. Be they cats in a shelter environment, or kitties in your home, whether you are a shelter employee, a volunteer working on behalf of cats, a foster kitty parent, or the guardian of a kitty, it doesn’t matter. If your cats are in a state of distress or fear, and you want to help these kitties, then this book is for you.
By using the techniques that I have created from over a decade of working with and rehabilitating shelter cats, and by employing a relatively inexpensive liquid preparation called Rescue Remedy, I am confident you can bring some relief to the frightened cats in your care. Timid cats will become more confident. Terrified cats will begin to relax. Over time, you may even be able to approach, pet and hold cats that were previously
