Really? Is This All You Get?

Okay, I admit it; I lived the adventure, invested in the seminars, downloaded the MP3's and read a whole lot of books about manifesting, the Law of Attraction, and cosmic ordering. Some were great! Others were not really my style. Maybe they were too advanced and mystical for me. They were like Harley Davidson hogs, and I am more of a moped (or even a ten-speed, okay... a bike with a basket and training wheels) kind of girl.

I like things spelled out for me. I want step-by-step instructions. I need to hear more than that things can work. I want a how-to manual so that it would work for me. I wanted something that clearly explained how to deliberately and purposefully create a new life. More than that, I needed to know how to un-create the stuff I did not want so that it would stop showing up on my doorstep.

Maybe I was asking for too much. After all, I wanted the metaphysical equivalent of a flying pony. What I got was piles of horse manure (sans pony, not to mention sans aeronautical capabilities) a couple of parking spaces and a few bumper stickers with cool phrases about world peace and enlightenment (on the same beat-up old car). The only thing that got lightened in any way was my purse.

All the programs I bought, the books I collected, and the seminars I went to, promised me that I would be able to attract, manifest and create the life I dreamed about. It all seemed so wonderful, but after doing all the things that were supposed to work, I felt like I had just put a 2000 piece puzzle together only to find that about a half a dozen pieces were not included in the box. I wanted, I needed more – much more. After an exhaustive search, I never found the one book that would be a road map to the places I wanted to go. So, I sat down to write it myself.

Let me give you a heads up right off the bat though, no one book has all the answers. In fact, no one book can even ask all the questions. Besides that, a book alone, no matter how well written or insightful cannot, in and of itself, change your life. In all the world, there is only one person on the planet that can improve the way you experience life, and that person is you.

This book cannot make you thin, increase your bank account, attract true love or climb the mountains for you. It can, however, give you a metaphysical tool-box so that you can do those things for yourself. Yes, I said it. You actually have to take off the spiritual sweat-pants, get your butt off the couch, put on some metaphysical work gloves and do something!

YOU will have to actually DO something to change your experience. Think of it this way, you can place a cosmic order, but somebody has got to sign for it and take it out of the box. You have to unwrap the gift of your life. Only you have the power to change you. Let’s be honest, if it was as simple as making a wish, we would all look like hot models, live in our dream houses and be driving new cars. None of us would have big butts or guts that we did not want. We would all have thriving bank accounts and be able to spend time doing the things we love.

It is not that manifesting does not work (it is based on quantum mechanics and that certainly works). You have to know how to use it purposefully. You actually use it every day anyway; you only need to understand and control it in an intentional (pun intended) way. You cannot perform surgery with a shotgun! You need the right tools and the right knowledge, or you will just end up blowing
