About this ebook
Amaranthe Lokdon survives her reckless plan to destroy the enemy’s weapon-filled super aircraft only to learn that thousands of people perished when it crash landed. Half of her team is missing... or dead. Meanwhile, the fighting in the capital has escalated, the Imperial Barracks have been taken by a pretender, and a deadly new danger threatens the populace. Amaranthe’s hopes of returning Emperor Sespian to the throne and bringing peace to the empire are dwindling by the hour.
To make matters worse, her strongest ally—and closest friend—has been captured and is under a powerful wizard’s control. If she can’t figure out a way to free Sicarius, he may kill them all when next they meet...

Reviews for Forged in Blood II (The Emperor's Edge, Book 7)

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sicarias is possessed, Amaranthe is missing, and dire beasts are out eating the populace (not all bad, since there's also a lot of rioting in the streets going on) - Stumps has never been less peaceful.Caution: Don't start the series here, whatever you do! You'll want to read at least Forged in Blood I first, and I strongly recommend begining with the first in the series, Emperor's Edge.Hopefully not the last we've seen of Amaranthe, Sicarias & company!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I was disappointed that Trog didn’t get featured more, but I enjoyed the introduction of more female protagonists, however late it may be.
There is an oversight in that Amaranthe seems to have forgotten how Retta joined the ancient tech program as discussed in book 5.
I found the makarovi and gangs a strange choice for a final battle. The gangs suddenly mobbing them didn’t make sense. With all the soldiers’ presence disrupting their operations, invading their territory, and likely killing their members in the crossfire of the political upheaval, retaliating against them would take precedence over throwing people at the bounties of a dangerous pair who weren’t antagonizing them, especially when the ones who’d be paying Sicarius’ were getting assassinated.
Vocab list this time: valise instead of suitcase, votaries instead of devotees, saturnine instead of somber, assiduous instead of diligent, ancillary instead of support, pate instead of head, corpulent instead of fat, recalcitrant instead of rebellious. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oh, so much fun! I actually read this in two days because I just couldn’t put it down.Hard to talk about this one without putting out spoilers. I will say the plot was action packed. And we get a few new faces – Tikaya and Rias from Lindsay’s prequel series Encrypted and Decrypted. I admit that I actually like this series more than the Emperor’s Edge series, so I was excited to see them again. However, with these new additions, it just became too many characters. It was a bit hard to keep track of them all.But I have to admit that Lindsay does a good job of tying up all the loose ends. The ending satisfied me. I think it was a good wrap up for the series.
