A brief note on the author.
General Introduction to The Malihambe! Living Spiritually Series
Over the last few years The Malihambe! Bible Series has been used by God throughout the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, and the wider Church, to equip and empower her preachers and teachers, and challenge and grow other members.
The Malihambe! Bible Study booklets, a companion volume to each Bible commentary published as a part of The Malihambe! Bible Series, have similarly ministered to Christians throughout southern Africa, and seen them grow in the life of the Spirit, as they have engaged the Bible in a relevant and honest way.
But how does the faithful Believer live out this growing relationship with God in Christ in his/her daily life?
It is to give a practical response to this question that The Malihambe! Living Spiritually Series has been given life.
Each book in the Series is:
~ relevant and appropriate for living spiritually in the 21st century and in southern Africa;
~ written in a clear and concise language that is easy to understand;
~ affordable; and
~ available in all the major languages of the sub-continent.
It is my prayer that each book in the Series will enable the Christ-follower to grow in his/her relationship with Jesus and to live it out in love and holiness day-by-day.

Introduction – Praying with Jesus
Since the Lord’s Prayer was first written down by Matthew and Luke almost two thousand years ago it has been an integral part of the Church’s life and worship. Many Christians cannot contemplate a worship service that doesn’t include this lovely prayer. In addition, it forms a part of the daily devotions of countless millions of people across the world. This is especially true on the southern African sub-continent.
However, for many faithful Christ-followers this prayer is nothing more than something said because Jesus told us to. The prayer is said or sung without meaning or understanding.
But Jesus didn’t give us this prayer simply to bolster our devotional life. He gave it to the Church
