About this ebook

As newlyweds Erik and Tabi Holliman set off on their honeymoon, they embarked on the next phase of a lifetime of togetherness that started almost two years earlier, when they first met and instantly fell in love.

Picking an odd little out-of-the-way place to spend most of their trip -- in an effort to stretch their honeymoon dollars as far as possible -- they began what they were sure was to be a fantastic journey together. Little did they know just how fantastic.

Only two days into their trip, everything they knew about their lives together would be challenged and forever changed -- everything except their flair for kinky sex and their eternal love for each other.

Having set out to begin creating their decided upon destiny, what they were unknowingly doing was becoming nothing more than pawns in something far more intricate, complex, sinister and downright dangerous. What started as a few strange anomalies rapidly progressed into an all-out fight for survival as Erik and Tabi found that before they could start writing their own destiny, they would first have to somehow complete a task no one had ever lived to accomplish -- they would have to fulfill Isabelle's destiny.

Isabelle's Destiny -- a paranormal, slightly erotic, slightly kinky, romance novella for adults -- is a story of eternal love, and the lengths that such love will go to in order to find ultimate fulfillment -- if necessary, even overcoming death and rewriting its own destiny along the way.

    Chapter 1

    I do.

And with those two tiny, simple words, Tabitha Josephine Samuel just became Mrs. Erik Brandon Holliman.

    ~ ~ ~

It was never how Tabi expected to be spending her wedding night, Erik knew that, but she seemed to be very understanding of the fact that this was simply how it had to be. Boarding the plane, still, he wished that he could somehow make it better for her. After all, this was the single night that was supposed to be the most important night of their lives. Not tomorrow night. Not last night. Tonight. And while maybe it was true, as Tabi had told him time and again, that the upcoming week would more than make up for it, Erik still didn’t like it. But tomorrow they would be in Paris and begin a somewhat more proper honeymoon, even if the wedding night itself had to be spent sitting on the plane that would take them to that honeymoon. If Erik only had been able to save up a few hundred dollars more, they could have spent the first night in a hotel, but he had to console himself that he simply was doing the best he could – and an extra few hundred dollars simply did not exist in his world. Despite the burden of his classes and his primary job, Erik had gotten a second, part-time job before he ever even asked Tabi to marry him, and for more than six months now he has put every single penny from that job into the honeymoon account. Still running a bit short, he had his cable television canceled two months back to make up the difference. He really was doing the best he could, but knowing that still didn’t keep him from feeling somehow inadequate. But it did help a bit when they boarded the plane and Tabi cried at the sight of the rose petals and crepe paper Erik had arranged to adorn their seats. Maybe that and the champagne and strawberries would be enough for her to somehow know how much she means to him on this most special of all nights.

And just as this is certainly not how Tabi envisioned her wedding night would be, neither is it how Erik envisioned his life would be still a few months shy of his twenty-third birthday. Somehow, he always figured he would still be dating – and having raunchy, wild, kinky sex with – a different woman every time the notion struck. But that ended the very minute he met Tabi almost two years ago now. In fact, Tabi was the first girl since he was fifteen and first started having sex that Erik actually didn’t have sex with on the first date. Not to misunderstand, Erik was always very nice to the women he was with and always doted on them to no end – and it’s not like there were thirty of them in thirty days or anything. They were relatively rare, actually, but he just never wasted time before initiating sex with them. And he wasn’t by any means whorish in the way he treated his sex partners, but for Erik it was still always about just that – the sex. Sometimes it was a bit kinky, sometimes a bit wild, sometimes it was a whole lot of both, and every now and then it was even a bit romantic – but it was still always about the sex. And it was always easy for Erik, having a face that was somehow both boyishly cute and stunningly handsome at the same time. With tousled, more-blond-than-dirty, dirty-blond hair and emerald blue eyes that were so bright and clear that they almost seemed self-illuminating, that face was always his in. And from there his six-foot-two well-defined yet smooth and sleek build with a bit of extra definition in the pecs and biceps took over. Though, oddly, Erik was actually very modest and rarely even took his shirt off in front of others, once in private he could manage to use his physique to his advantage. And that was always enough to carry him all the way to the bedroom, where he certainly lacked nothing in either endowment or skill. It was always easy for Erik when it came to getting women to have sex with him, with most willing to do it just for the bragging rights alone. But he gave all that up for Tabi, without even a moment’s thought. He loved her, and he knew it the first time he gazed into her eyes.

Side by side they were a striking couple, as much for their visual differences as their shared beauty. Tabi was a full foot shorter than Erik, had a body that was nothing but curves and contours from top to bottom – seemingly combining every single clichéd aspect of womanly beauty into one creature – with shoulder length jet-black hair that ran sleekly around her face, almost framing it. And though Erik – with his blond hair and blue eyes – had a fair complexion, Tabi was flawless pale alabaster. The visual contrast of her black hair and skin tone was further enhanced by her rich, deep, dark brown eyes. And despite the laundry-list of beauty that stood in front of him, Erik hardly even noticed much of it until he got to those eyes. The instant their eyes locked, it was as if day had just met night for the very first time ever. As the two conversed that evening, they almost never broke that direct eye contact, and sometimes still to this day they simply silently look into each other’s eyes, seemingly doing the impossible and falling even deeper and deeper into love with each passing moment that they maintain their gaze. They even speak to each other with those eyes sometimes, totally without the need for words, each instantly understanding the other with nothing more than brief eye contact. And back on that first night they met, each even commented to their friends afterwards about the opposition of their eyes. Tabi remarked that looking into Erik’s eyes was like seeing everything good and bright and clear in the world – with all the dark and bad things removed. She was convinced that such beautiful bright eyes could hold nothing dark behind them. And for the most part she has learned that to be true. Erik really is legitimate in all senses – he is exactly what he appears to be, and despite his modesty he still manages to be incredibly fun, loving, caring, doting, compassionate, carefree, and countless other things that Tabi finds very refreshing. When Erik first commented on Tabi’s eyes, it was their depth that he spoke of. Looking into them, he swore he could see the entirety of the universe – and in an incredibly odd and intriguing way he could even see that his own life was in there somewhere also, somehow merged with Tabi’s life, though the details seemed blank as if they were just waiting to be created. Still, deep thought, mystery and intrigue lived behind those eyes, Erik was certain. And he was likewise correct for the most part. Tabi was mysterious enough that Erik never knew exactly what to expect from one minute to the next, but at the same time she was very thoughtful and meticulous in everything she did. But she combined that seemingly conservative meticulousness with her incredibly outgoing nature in the most fantastic of ways. And when that mix combined with Erik’s fun-loving yet slightly too modest mix, the concoction that was created was undeniably good.

That first night they met, with certainty, Erik was smitten through and through. His heart vowed then and there – long before his brain was even aware of what it
