It was late in the evening when the couple stepped from the sidewalk onto the pathway leading up to their home. The night air was warm and comfortable, the kind of night that is right for a drive with the windows rolled down, a nice walk, or a refreshing skinny-dip in the pool. The two were returning from a night on the town with their neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. The four would get together every month or so, just friends, having a good time and enjoying each other's company.

With keys already in his hand, the man and woman continued down the walkway, stepped up the few steps onto their front porch, and walked up to the large front door. He inserted the key into the lock and worked it until the bolt turned. I need to fix that, he said under his breath and then pushed the large door open. The two entered into the empty hall to find the house quiet and dark, just as they had expected it to be. After placing the keys into the hand turned cherry-wood bowl on the small entry table, he began to remove his jacket. With his jacket in hand, he opened the hall closet door and placed it on a hanger before hanging it upon the awaiting rod.

Wow, the man said aloud shaking his head in disbelief.

What? his wife replied as she stood next to him waiting for him to receive her jacket to be hung alongside his own. He took her jacket, worked a new hanger into place, and hung it next to his. Before he could elaborate
